My sister was at this facility for three years, and what I observed was kind, caring staff. It’s a small facility, which makes it a homey environment. The facility was very clean and did not smell like most nursing homes, which I really liked. I did have a few complaints, and I felt that they were dealt with in a timely manner. One of my complaints was a licenses regulation, which at the time, I didn't realize, so, therefore, the facility hands were tied. I thought the food was okay, and could stand some improvement, but overall it’s okay.
One thing I did notice is at the hospital, my sister had therapy seven days a week, but here she only received therapy five days a week. But, what I learned was you received the same amount of therapy whether it’s five days or seven a week. This preference worked out better for my sister.
I read the review dated 11/22/12 and was really surprised with the statement that was written (that the facility has recently deteriorated and has gone from a 4 stars to a 2 stars). The statement was only half true and I feel that whoever wrote it was being a bit too harsh. Yes, the facility has gone from 4 to 2 stars; but to state the words have deteriorated, this is absolute not true. According to the Webster Dictionary (deteriorated) means: to become worse as time passes. The care has not changed, the cleanness has not changed, and the staff has not changed. But what did cause them to lose their stars was their main refrigerator was slowly dying during the State inspection, and earlier that same day some food was used from that refrigerator. This could have happened to anyone including us, @#$% happens.
I happen to know that Bridgton Hospital tried sending BHCC referrals; during this time and Medicare would not allow them to take any referrals, and they dragged their feet on what type of fine they would incur. Bridgton Health Care not only loss their stars, but loss money and had to pay the State a big, big fine.
I caution everyone before you go around slamming or possibly ruining someone’s reputation check all your facts first. Perhaps, there has been a miss understanding on both your parts. It’s seems in today’s society we are all too quick to point a finger and not take our fair share of our blame. I don’t know about you, but I sure could use some kindness in my world. Bless you all for reading and bless BHCC staff for all their kindness and care not only to me, but to my sister.

My mother spent several weeks after a stroke before being admitted into Springbrook Rehab. Bridgton Health Care administrators are corrupt - attempt to wrongly charge Medicare, plus lied about OT & PT therapy sessions (times performed). Should be closed down by the State!

My mother was in this facility after her stroke. We were very unhappy with the care she received.
