The facility made me sick to my stomach literally. I visited on a Friday evening around 8 pm. Residents sitting around the desk in soiled clothing, no attention being paid to any of them. The staff was oblivious to the poor residents. Was shown a private room...sickening. The staff seemed to care less about the residents.

The Social Services Manager was very helpful with Pro Care. The Admissions Coordinator and the Business Office Coordinator kept me well informed. Physical Therapist, John did an amazing job with my sister.

Some staff care but the ones that should care, could care less. SAD ! STAY OUT OF DEVLIN ! They sweet talk and promise you the world to get you in the door then you are forgotten about. No sence complaining. They will act like they really care but don't be fooled, they don't care. Longest time of my life. It was hell.

I read the previous postings and i couldnt disagree more. Employees complain no matter where you go. My mom was a resident there this year and she was very well taken care of, well fed, and received attention whenever she asked for it. The staff were always attentive, Mrs. Miller is the administrator and went out of her way to honor my moms most unusual requests. i would recommend Devlin Manor to anyone who needs a place for a short stay or a long stay.

Devlin Manor may look good on paper or when there is an inspection taking place but what happens in this nursing home is a sad thing to see when your family member is in here. The staff that is there is over worked and underpaid and it shows with there attitudes. 90 % of the Aids could care less to be there and have absolutely no person skills and should seek employment that does not deal with people. Residents are ignored, not treated well, and things are not done properly in there care. If you do not visit your family member on a daily basis to make sure everything is done right, sad to say but your family member is part of neglect and bad care. You can hear the employees complain about how they haven’t gotten a raise and years, how they are making minimum wage or close to it and how much they hate there jobs, why do I want to know this? If you are there on a regular basis its hard to get to know the staff since they have such poor working conditions many quit if not within a month soon after, and some within days of there starting. If there employees don’t even want to be there why would the residents?

The main guy in charge was arrested!! For Medicare fraud anyone shocked by this? I certainly was. It is summer time and hot outside, please tell me why to save money they would decide to TURN OFF THE AIR CONDITIONING? Do you have any idea how hot an uncomfortable that was? Its amazing what you hear the staff talking about when they thing you are not listening for instance; did you know they are talking about turning the soiled diapers inside out and putting them back on the residence to save money on buying so many? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Residents are not able to smoke at this facility and that is understandable but how can the staff miss people smoking in the room bathrooms? I could smell it and when asking one of the residents there he stated "Oh that’s someone smoking in the bathroom. Can we say Fire Hazard?

If you have a loved one in the facility GET THEM OUT NOW! If you are considering a home for your loved one SEEK ELSEWHERE unless you plan to be there every moment of the day to make sure they are in good care. Visiting hours are over at 8:00 to really see how bad it is there try to go on the weekends or between 5 pm and 8 pm that’s when all of the bosses leave and when employees really start to not care.

The only good thing I see at this nursing home is that it is clean; the inside seams to be neat and tidy but the outside is another story do they only mow and weed once a month? And when there’s someone important coming to visit everyone is then doing there job other than that … good luck perhaps they should have an inspection 24 hours a day? My loved one is no longer in this nursing home and I will make it my mission to let everyone know not to take there family there. I will post this everywhere that I can and spread the word as much as possible and I suggest if you read this you do the same. Don’t let these people get away with this any longer


Response: Yes I agree that employees on dayshift and evening shift doesnt seem to care they are short staffed at times so therefore I agree there is not proper care being given I think that the owner needs to be held responsible and held up to higher standards. I do know that they have excellent night shift staff nurses and cna's, this shift is not nearly recoginized enough for there work and great care of the residents. What needs to be addressed for night shift staff is not staying over on daylight when someone calls off and staffing shortage many many times on daylight. Management needs to step up and make sure that staffing is covered no one on any shift should have to stay over more than 2 to 4 hours unless there is an emergency or illnesses (i.e. flu epidemics).Better management needs to be hired and someone that is people oriented for staff and residents. That is my personal view of this facility.
