My Dad is currently a resident at Long vIew. I would recommend this facilty to any friend or loved one. Everyone is so caring and he receives the best care that he could ever imagine. The staff go the extra mile to ensure that my Dad is cared for a happy.

My Mom has been at several facilities and this is the best facility by far!

Longview Nursing Home is a "bottom of the barrel" facility. It is family owned and family run by people who only care about the bottom line. I have had residents there tell me personally that they have waited up to an hour just to be toiled. The staff openly speak about the residents which is a violation of privacy laws. Nurses there will miss passing medications to residents and the owner and especially the Director of Nursing know this goes on. They have a "buddy" system where they will go back and change records and nurses notes. I've seen residents hanging out of their beds, feet on the floor unable to call for a nurse, I've seen call bells out of reach and some not even working. The staff there will take the phone off the call bell system so that they are not disturbed during the evening shift. I've heard residents calling out for help. One resident told me that she asked to use the bed pan during the night and a GNA came in to help her. The GNA did not understand how to position the bed pan when the resident stated that it hurt her, the GNA told her that she was trying to get her "fat @#$%" on the pan. I asked the resident why she did not report this abuse and she told me that it was out of fear because she has to be alone with this GNA during the night.
The facility is run down and I have seen Oxygen tanks that do not work, breathing tx masks that are unkept and unclean/unsanitary. Residents will lay in mucus/urine/feces/saliva for hours sometimes even all day. The owner and her staff of family members parade around the facility pretending to care yet the RN's there as well as the owner have no Nursing Skills. It is all a charade of compassion and commitment to care.
It would be better to lay down and die then to put your loved one in this home. They only reason why they have achieved any sort of standard is because their records are falsified and the standard of care for the aging in this type of facility is low. No matter how low, Longview falls far below in standard of care. The residents are over medicated and live in filth. I would classify it as neglect.
I had trouble giving this facility one star but there was nothing less the one. If you love your elderly parent/aunt/uncle/sister/brother whom ever..then steer clear of Longview. This facility will cause them to grow worse in their condition. It's a very dark, depressing place with a less then capable staff and an owner who is more concerned with her appearance then giving good patient care.
This is the truth!!!!!!

Response: I totally agree. This place is the worst of the worst. Its filthy dirty, I dont even know why they have housekeeping staff. It is absolutely disgusting and it stinks. Most of the staff is too worried about what is going on in everyone elses personal lives rather then providing personal care to the residents.

Response: ObviOusly you are a disgruntled employee! This is not a family ! Come to the facility and see for your self that all employees and ownership are the best around !!!!

Response: I don't know what Nursing Home you are referring to, but it is obviously not Longview in Manchester.
My father lives there, and he gets very good care. It is one of the cleanest, quietest places I have seen. The GNA's and other staff are the kindest most helpful people I have met. My hat is off to them all for their kindness and diligence.
