Staff is not properly trained, this is admission of the facility. Food is cold, and constantly the same. Not the most friendly for seniors lots of starches. The six months Mom was in facility, the same menu week after week. Yes, there were choices but still the same menu. Not a lot of information from the staff on issues with patient. Lots of missing clothing. No water for patients, my mother was diagnosed as Acute Dehydration for six months and her water was in her bedroom while she was in the TV room or outside. Very HOT in facility. This is not safe for seniors as it causes breathing and lung issues. Yet, staff was complaining it was so cold in there. Lunches of the staff, everyone goes at the same time with no one to attend the patients. Mom needed to use the bathroom and we waited 15 min. and finally the nurse assisted her. Staff confirmed everyone goes to lunch at the same time. If there would have been an emergency I cannot imagine what the outcome of that would have been. A lady fell out of her wheel chair, she was not checked out before putting her back in the wheel chair, no one asked her questions either. Then the staff left. Lots of help with very heavy accents, which makes it very difficult to understand. Patients falling, laying in bed in human waste for hours at a time. The cleanliness of facilty was so so. A lady in Mom's room was being chastized because she was not eating and loosing eight. She also did nothing but sleep. No one offered to assist to help her eat or ask if there was anything that could be done for her. I finally said something to someone so she would not continue to sit there day after day and not eat. She had diabetis and was on kidney dialysis. There is no use of belts for transferring patients, they pull and tug on the patients body or clothing. Meeting after meeting was held to address the issues but first you have to meet with someone who cares. No one has a clue to what is going on in this facility. I never heard of a doctor actually seeing Mom in the facility, it was an assistant. I took her out to her own doctors. They have two women who do activities, I was impressed with these ladies. When visiting you are so busy talking to staff to take care of the issues you do not get to spend a lot of time with the loved one. My mother needed her hearing aides, and glasses and yet we had to get staff to put them in for her as they weren't aware she needed them. I would not advise anyone entering this facility. There is just no motivation in this facility toward the care of their patients. By the admission of the facilty they needed to train their staff. They are not educated to know how to take care of people with brain issues. They do not label the meds properly for what the med is for. My mother had a med for nerve damage and they had it listed for anxiety. This is a nasty facility.

My relative was in both short and long-stay sections of Collingswood. Nursing care was especially attentive in both, responsive to patient and family concerns. Good liaison with the doctor in charge through a responsive, attentive CRNP person. The rehab personnel were uniformly outstanding and among the facility's best features. Social work and attendant staff varied in helpfulness, depending on who was on duty; but no one underperformed. The place was clean, attractive, had good activities for patients, and was always cordial and responsive. Several folks went the extra mile, suggesting things both to reduce cost and get some additional important services. Would definitely recommend and use again if required.
