I am a current resident of Don Orion home as of February 8 2014 I have suffered abuse that is of the worst kind I have ever been in, and I've been in 5 of them.only seconds ago have I been informed that it is not being run by the fathers of dawn already in fact it's run by a management company because this place has been sold to a New York developer. I have seen things that would make your skin crawl I am only here for a short term rehab but I can tell you for a fact that the rationing of food deluding of drinks such as apple juice and orange juice and cranberry juice as well as coffee basically tastes like water, is done every day.. The food is not fit for human consumption and I wouldn't give it to my dog I have meals brought in for me as well as gallons of drinks for me to stay hydrated. I have watched and cried as the CNA's especm totally ignore seniors leaving them in urine and feces for hours upon hours upon hours without helping them. There is no menu , of food. Everybody gets the same thing every night ,you do not have the right to fill out a request for food as you would a't any normal hospital every its a one size fits all.As the other person said , when you fill out a complaint, its instant retaliation. All of my money has been robbed, as well clothing. But by far the igorance , and lack of respect for the sickest , bed ridden seniors makes my stomach turn.In my opinion this place is very dangerous, and in my opinion, I WARN EVERYONE DO NOT PUT YOURSELF , OR A FAMILY MEMBER IN HERE.I AM THE LAST TO GET ANY CARE.NO ONE WEARS NAME TAGS SO THE ELDERLY CANT IDENTIFY THEM.I had to contact the State OBudsman to have my voice heard.TODAY IS LAST STRAW FOR ME , THERE MUST BE TWO PEOPLE IN MY SHOWER, ONE TO WASH ME, AND THE OTHER JUST WATCHS ME.IT IS HUMILIATING , AND MY UNCLE IS GOING TO COURT TO GET AN INJUNCTION.I am in 100percent in shock, this is also done to me as I pee, and do #2.Please Please dont even consider sending anyone here.THere are also PERMANANT RESIDENTS WHO CANT LEAVE THE BUILDING.IN MY OPINION THERES NO WAY THIS DEVELOPER WILL STAY IN THIS BUSINESS, I SEE. CONDOS.ALSO IN MY OPINION THE BUILDING IS IN SUCH DISTRESS , IT WOULD BE COST EFFECTIVE TO TEAR IT DOWN, AS OPPOSED TO RENOVATE.A TOTAL DISGRACE, AND ITS ONCE AGAIN ABUSE BY A CATHOLIC ENTITY.ONCE OUT I INTEND ON TURNING IN MY DIARY TO AS MANY STATE, AND FEDERAL AGENCIES AS POSSIBLE.MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THOSE POOR SENIORS.MY HEART ACHES EVERY SECOND. OF EVERYDAY.

i gave it one star as it wouldnt accept zero stars for lack of respect towards residents, not answering call lights, horrible smell and management not returning phone calls or taking care about complaints. Extremely dissapointed. I almost forgot, staff steals from residents and retaliates if you complain, residents fear nurses and especially cna's that work during night.

The staff at Don Orione Sisters is ready to offer personalized in-home care whenever your loved one needs assistance. Providing a variety of helpful elder services, such as medication reminders, light housekeeping, and groooming assistance, in-home care professionals are available around-the-clock. You'll also find independent living, in-home care and rehab services provided by this community. This community, a comprehensive independent living community, allows you to do as you wish, when you wish, but without the burdens of home ownership that can tie you down and take up your time. Serving both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as senior apartments, retirement villages, and communities for 55 and older. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with a variety of community amenities, services, and programs tailored specifically for seniors. Your personal belongings, such as furniture and favorite mementos, can move to your new home with you. With maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping taken care of, seniors can focus on goals and passions instead of the daily demands of home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. Community services and amenities usually include fitness clubs, dining facilities, swimming pools, golf courses, hiking trails, social events, and more. Some seniors, as they age and begin to need assistance, simply do not wish to leave the place they’ve called home for many years. Sometimes they bought their dream home upon retirement. Sometimes it is the house where they raised their children and watched their families grow up. For them, the walls and floors resonate with memories. A caring, in-home staff understands this and is dedicated to making seniors as comfortable and as satisfied as they can possibly be. Services are available twenty-four-hours a day, seven days a week. Home care includes various medical and non-medical support services. For many seniors, home care allows them to stay independent for as long as possible. With independent living, you can do as you wish, when you wish, but without the burdens of home ownership that can take up your time. In-home care is an option for seniors when they need it. Care professionals will bring their expertise and experience to your home. This choice is perfect for those who would like to stay in their homes but who need some help with the daily activities of living. These services, available 24 hours a day, every day, are paid for by the individual or through public and private funding sources, such as Medicare and/or Medicaid.
