Do NOT let your loved ones enter this facility. I will say most of the nurses were attentive, I will say they were not on top of calling family members when my loved one needed to be sent to the hospital. The nursing assistants were VERY unfriendly, and took extremely long periods of time to answer call bell, especially on the night shift. After a fall at the nursing home, my loved one passed away. Please find a facility that will keep a close eye on your loved ones

Response: Unfortunately, I lost a loved one at this facility also after her being left alone in the bathroom. She got up and attempted to walk back to her bed after no one answered her call bell!! She fell and passed away 12 hours later. I am sorry to hear you also lost a loved one

As a place to gain strength through PT/OT services, Clark House serves as a modest example of rehab facilities. The PT/OT services, of all the services The Clark House provides, stand out as decent. That's where it ends.
The care (concern, patience, reassurance) provided to my family member disappeared as she became a more permanent member of their clientele. A few members of the nursing staff were kind and compassionate. Most were dismissive of both my family member's concerns as well as the patient's concerns. After a fall at this facility, our patient called (whilst on the floor) out for help, reportedly for quite a while. Because her calls for help went unheard, she was eventually able to get back on her feet and slowly make her way back to her room. A cursory exam was done by the onstaff MD and she was deemed 'fine'. No phone calls to family members, no trip to the ER, just another dismissive response. Not 24 hours later my family member was found unresponsive in her bed, pale, and cyanotic by a janitor, who then reported it to nursing staff. Once they arrived in the room, the nurse called 911. Again, no calls to family members, most importantly, the person who is the designated Health Care Proxy. Since being admitted to the hospital, our family member was diagnosed with pneumonia, a urinary tract infection and (the frosting on the cake) a STROKE. Upon further examination it was determined that the stroke was recent and a likely contribution to the fall taken the previous day.
In speaking with any member of the Clark House about this incident, most have become rather defensive but none more than the Executive Director, himself. Kindred Care really needs to take a close look at how the Clark House is managed. Our family member will not ever go back to the Clark House and we will do our best to make sure she lives out the rest of her life with dignity, respect, love and true, actual CARE. If you love someone, do not let them stay at the Clark House.

My father was at Clark House for over a year. The place is very clean. I did not like anyone on the staff. No one diagnosed a rash that plagued him for weeks.
