Both of my folks are presently at Heartland for Rehab care. Since there stay I have noticed a positive improvement in them, both physically and mentally. The PT, and OT staff have challenged, supported and motivated my folks. Also the Nursing staff and all the Assistance have been very caring, and friendly. They keep them very busy there, with lots of therapy and activities, all this has helped my folks stay positive during this difficult time.

My mother got horrible bedsores and had to wait at least a half hour for help when using her call-light. They want money but give below average care. I would NOT recommend this nursing home. VERY disappointed!!!

Heartland exceeded my expecations! The staff was very friendly and the facility was very clean. One of the therapists worked past her shift to help me out and the staff never gets upset. They always have a few minutes to listen. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

I had heard about Heartland of Ann Arbor and heard they were top notch and when I was told I needed therapy I wanted the best! So many places are out there but they are not all that great with therapy. They exceeded my expectations, I had no idea the quality of care that I would recieve at Heartland of Ann Arbor and it was so excellent. The staff is so caring and I was never overlooked. I am blessed! That is all I can say, I am so blessed. When I didn't think I could make it...and now I'm able to go home again.

It is fantastic what they do here! The therapists work with the patients like they were their own family. Fantastic job! I would recommend Heartland to anybody!

I am very satisfied with this facility! My father is currently a patient here and is receiving wonderful care. He had an extended surgery stay at the U of M Hospital and was severely deconditioned when we brought him to Heartland. The rehab department here is wonderful and my father is now up and walking with his strength back. The nurses are very friendly and go the extra mile. The grounds are beautiful and they have a patio with gorgeous outdoor furniture that my family takes advantage of. I highly recommend this rehab facility to anyone. We will be taking my father home soon and hope to continue with Heartland outpatient services.

I was there after my second hip replacement. I am surprised at their low rating. I was very satisfied with my 2 week stay. The physical therapist, for my discharge, gave me 10 exercises to do at home. 6 were inappropriate..lying on side of unoperated hip, no pillow between legs when doing exercises..I spoke to the assistant director, (who did not know anything about physical therapy for hip patients) showed him the sheets and he was surprised and upset. Said he'd take care of it. Otherwise, the PT activities with me during my stay were fine. The OT was helpful and made modification to provide me with variety as well as appropriate activities. I spoke to nutritionist who told me I could make substitutions, she listed them. Before some meals, I asked an aide to take my handwritten menu to the kitchen and I got what I'd requested. Meals were good, soup especially delicious. Aides were helpful, came fairly quickly when I rang. Of course some were more friendly than others. Brought cookies and juice at night, sometimes I had to ask, at other times, the snacks just appeared. Nurses efficient, made suggestions when I was constipated. I was taken to some Livonia park with other patients as an outing (seemed unnecessary and expensive, Medicare paid, for someone there for just 2 weeks. They had some outdoor activities, some were field trips, on their
activity sheet. There were indoor activities daily, some very easy for patients who needed simple activities. There is a pleasant lounge, with birds, paper puzzles for visiting grandkids, or some patients, books, magazines, free newspapers during the week. I used the computer. I was told some of the wings have Wi-Fi and others will have it soon.
I liked looking at the gardens which are attractive and there are some bird feeders which was nice. My PT took me outside for a walk when I requested it. We had an outdoor bar-b-que one day. Nice way to have lunch.
I'd be glad to answer questions. I have no connection with Heartland other than being a patient.

Was told this was the best anything but the best. My family member only got sicker and weaker there. Our concerns were ignored, family member eventually fell from being left unattended, and broke a bone. Upon going to ER, we found out just how sick they were. I would not put an animal in this facility!
