My sister Connie Valley was a patient at this facility in January and February this year. Myself, my brother and her daughter asked to have a meeting to discuss her care plan as she had end stage liver disease. We all asked that she be sent to a hospice facility as soon as possible. We were told by the staff that she would get hospice care at the nursing facility until an opening came up where she could be sent.My brother and I were up from Florida, and stayed for a week. She never got any comfort measures because the doctor didn't authorize them! She was left in a confussed state, and in pain for several weeks until finally she was moved and died on March 3rd. My niece even wrote a $600.00 check to your facility so she could have the pain meds and hospice care she needed. I am sending my brother this link, so he can file a complant as well. My sister shouldn't have had to suffer like that just because she was on Medicare and or Medicade! We could hope after a review, her doctor would be repremanded. He lied to us and said end stage liver disease is not a painful death. He said she had three to six months to likv. He and the staff at the meeting said they would put her on comfort measures right away until she could be moved. He said there was no bed for her then, around January 29th, when there was one in Cherlotte and Lansing. I even took my niece to get a power of attorney and had my sister sign it, so she could write the $600.00 check to ensure the Nursing Home got paid for the extra expences. This is a memory our family will never forget. You have all the records to look into this siruation and we will make sure my niece's lawyer is given them as well. An injured animal would get better end of life care than my sister got thanks to this doctor's orders.

The doctor there is a idiot! He wanted to take my grandmother off all her meds. My mother had to fight with him for an hour before he agreed to give her some of the meds but he wouldn't give her every thing her doctor of 20 years has precribed. By the way grandmother is 96 years old. You can't just take people off their meds after they have been on them for so long. The staff said she is not the only one he has tried to do that to. We are currently trying to get her in somewhere else. Please if you love your family member DO NOT let them go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They allowed my mother to dehydrate to the point that her kidneys stopped functioning. She nearly died as a result of their neglect.
