The management staff is completely incompetent. They issued a memo to the resadents with a phone number to call in the event of a problem. The problem was nobody check the number given. It belongs to a person not involved in any manner to the place. The staff was notified and still unable to correct the problem. If they can not get a phone number correct it calls into consideration what else they are not able to get correct!

Absolutely Wonderful service, care, and affordability. I wasted countless hours looking at other facilities that didnt even have close to what Lake Huron Woods has...and at a lower cost! I would reccomed this facility to anyone that would like to enjoy their independence and do so in a way that dosent take all of your money.

Description of Lake Huron Woods in Fort Gratiot, MI

Assisted living affords a healthy, secure, and supportive environment for seniors who need help with day-to-day tasks but who still want to retain their self-sufficiency. Why choose an assisted living community? Studies reveal that living near peers and participating in social activities leads to a happier life. With assisted living, you'll find senior-friendly residences and a warm staff. Communities have additional services that include 24-hour supervision and security, emergency response systems, access to licensed nursing care, chef-prepared meals, and assistance with grooming, dressing, and bathing. Housekeeping, laundry, social programs, and local transportation are usually provided, too. When you are autonomous but want the comraderie of your peers, choose indepedent living and enjoy amenities and services geared towards seniors. Serving both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as senior apartments, retirement villages, and communities for 55 and older. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with an abundance of community amenities, services, and programs tailored specifically for seniors. Your personal belongings, such as furniture and favorite mementos, can move to your new home with you. With maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping taken care of, seniors can focus on goals and passions instead of the daily demands of home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. Community services and amenities usually include fitness clubs, dining facilities, swimming pools, golf courses, hiking trails, social events, and more. The personal interests of memory care residents at Lake Huron Woods are always honored and respected. Along with the care and detailed attention they receive from specialists in Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, they are encouraged by dedicated staff to pursue the things they love, and always with a spirit of compassion, trust, and teamwork. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a dedicated staff that is skilled in techniques unique to memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private residences with twenty-four-hour support. Three healthy meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment encourage mental stimulation. Grounds typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to enjoy. Behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming are provided as well. Some seniors, as they age and begin to need assistance, simply do not wish to leave the place they’ve called home for many years. Sometimes they bought their dream home upon retirement. Sometimes it is the house where they raised their children and watched their families grow up. For them, the walls and floors resonate with memories. A caring, in-home staff understands this and is dedicated to making seniors as comfortable and as satisfied as they can possibly be. Services are available twenty-four-hours a day, seven days a week. Home care consists of various medical and non-medical support services. When you are ready for assistance, medical and non-medical professionals are ready to help with a wide range of services. Nursing homes provide care of chronic conditions as well as shorter-term convalescent and rehab care. A skilled staff and licensed nurses provide 24/7 health care when needed as well as assistance with the activities of daily living, including grooming, dressing, and help with using the bathroom. Most residents share a room, with healthy meals provided in a central dining room. An activity director designs an activity and events plan to cultivate mental, physical, and social health. An assisted living community provides help as you need it, with the goal of supplying the services required to stay as autonomous as possible. When seniors are autonomous but want the comraderie of peers, choose indepedent living and enjoy a variety of amenities and services. Memory care gives a more direct level of care, brain games designed for memory enhancement, as well as secure, comfortable living arrangements. In-home care is helpful for seniors when they need it. Care professionals will bring their expertise and experience to your home. This choice is perfect for those who would like to stay in their homes but who need some help with the daily activities of living. These services, available 24 hours a day, every day, are paid for by the individual or through public and private funding sources, such as Medicare and/or Medicaid. Nursing home care gives the highest level of attention in the senior space. Call today and discover how Lake Huron Woods is the perfect fit for seniors requiring assisted living, independent living, in-home care, memory care, nursing home, skilled nursing facility, rehab and respite services.
