This is a small place, that you would think would be able to take care of the max. 6 residents, but there is very little in the way of caring for the residents in the area of making them happy. As long as they sit, eat & sleep, the owners must feel that is all one gets for the money they spend. Little to no personal feeling and contact. Its just $$$ to them. We had been at another home, that had to close down, and it was a family type feeling. You always knew that the people there cared about each resident. They would try to talk and to crafts, reading and other things with the residents. Here NONE of those things. I also got a different story on things that were important to us, from the owners, only when we asked. My mother fell, and had the entire side of her face black/blue, and we never got a call. The aid there was very good, and we feel that she was the only one that truly cared. We knew that when we worked, our mom was taken good care of. (mostly on the weekends). My mother needed help eating, part of what we were paying for, and more times than not, when we would go see her around a meal time, she would be the only one sitting in the dinning room, a complete plate of food. Not one bite taken, and it would be stone cold. Where was the help we paid for, to help her eat? If it had not been that my mother was 93 and only had a short time, we would have moved her to a place that we felt they cared more, than just the dollars. For both her and us, she finally passed in the night. I can only say, "Sorry Mom", I wish I could have had you someplace that would have made your last days better. This is just our thoughts, and I would say that to each of you thinking of some place for a loved one, to make sure what you have, just don't trust a fast talking person, that seems nice. It sometimes does not work out!!
