My Grandmother spent about her last eight months of life at the memory care unit facility. I happen to live a couple hours away so I wasn't there everyday, but there every other weekend and then the last 11 days of her life everyday, even stayed right there with her the whole time. I have no complaints. The staff was extremely caring towards my concerns and worries and they took good care of her. For her circumstances (because she became very angry and hostile with her condition) I have to say they did a great job there. They gave my Grandmother a lot of attention as she made it that way but they didn't have to! Please go visit there and see for yourselves. And both managers I felt with were great too! Matter of fact I still keep in touch with some of the staff both active and former. And they still are there for me. There's always down sides to facilities, I agree and there's always complaints and there's always angry people about staff that was let go, heck I am even one of those people , but it's a great place and they have loving staff that truly tried their very best.

My family and I beyond satisfied with the care my wife has received. The staff is very friendly and most importantly genuinely cares about the well being of their residents. My experience with management has been very positive and they have gone out of their way to address concerns, provide details and took the time to answer the many questions I personally (along with my family) had. After countless hours of research and other facility visits there is no place we would rather be. Thanks Again Pines of Lapeer.

Shame on the manager of the Pines of Lapeer Assisted Living for not giving credit where it is deserved. Both buildings would of never had an Elvis Presley entertainment if it wasn't for the activities director Barb! It was because of her hard works and efforts that the residents were able to enjoy that kind of entertainment. Let's not forget she brought in Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Shriners clowns, Sparkles the clown and great musical entertainment also! That's just to mention a few! Don't take away credit where credit is due!

This new company that just took over made the biggest mistake ever by letting go of one of their biggest asset! The housekeeper / Activities Director there was incredible and holding both jobs did it beautifully! She was LOVED by so many! She shared the excitement about the new owners and ALL the new opportunity's that she would now have to make the families loved ones lives there filled with laughter and joy. The LOVE and CONCERN that she had for all those residents you seen EVERYDAY. She was one TRUE COMPASSIONATE LOVING LADY !

After reading the review from a year and 6 months ago (2/7/15), I can see that nothing has changed! We've had several of our family members visit on separate occasions stating these exact same issues! How the aids are all at the counter on their phones with no acknowledgement of them as they came in! We've heard one resident yelling for help who was seated up front and not one aid came to their assistance our whole visit there! Our general visits are normally lengthy ones, unless we decide to take our family member out. It's really sad to see the elderly being neglected like that. Food on their faces and all over their clothes. Hair in a mess. Our family is very disappointed!

Staff does not seem very involved as residents are sitting alone with no one assisting them. Residents sitting in recliners slumped over in what looks like very uncomfortable positions. Resident in wheelchair also not positioned properly with only top of back touching wheelchair because they are too far forward and also slumped to the side, very uncomfortable and probably not safe. No one helping residents at meal time, many with food all over their faces and clothes, one resident with mucus running into her mouth while staff stood near kitchen talking. Resident at the table with my friend asked me as a guest for help because staff as she said "they don't help us, I don't know what to do". Looks like a lovely building but care is much more important than a pretty environment. Very disappointed!

The Pines of Lapeer is an assisted living facility. Assisted living facilities are an apartment-style habitat designed to focus on providing assistance with daily living activities. They provide a higher level of service for the elderly which can include preparing meals, housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, and also do regular check-in's on the residents. Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

Also, The Pines of Lapeer is a Micro community, which means it is a smaller senior community. It is a Residential Care Facility. Some people prefer it for its smaller less institutional setting.

Also, The Pines of Lapeer care provider provides hospice care. Hospice care is an infusion of home care and facility care provided to benefit terminally ill patients and support their families through their tough times.

We have a very family oriented facility, home cooked meals, close to town and shopping and well trained staff.
