I was shocked when I walked into this place. They had such a high rating on the Medicare website and we had to choose a place to go to right from the hospital, with no time to visit When we arrived, I could tell it was small from the outside. Inside, the place is so old, understaffed and seemed run-down. It reminded me of an old institution. The rooms are so sad and drab, It is like a place to go and die; not a place that's peaceful, but a place for the forgotten. The food was served on paper plates and was not very appetizing. Rooms are over cramped and furniture is very old (thrift store type stuff). Our Mom required beds with railing, which they knew because we told them she was at risk of falling. The bed was not equipped. Power outlets were over filled with extension cords plugged onto extension cords. We told them she needed help with food, but after visiting after a meal, her tray just set there by her. Four bathrooms in the facility with a community shower for all residents? It was shockingly unsuitable. I just don't see how someone could send a loved one there. Please, if you are ever thinking of sending a loved one here, visit first. Don't fall into feeling lost as you have to leave your loved one there for a night or two while you scramble to get them moved to a facility to care for them. I'm sorry, but for a medical facility that's for profit, some one is gaining from this place, but it's not the facility or the patients.
