My father told me of staff coming in and stealing things out of his kitchen area and fridge. Ultimately he died several weeks after a fall in the bathroom at sunrise while under the supervision Of a paid assistant from the facility. He fell backwards into the shower while attendant was with him. I was never notified. Their excuse, he didn't want them to call me. He was 86. He had a broken pelvis and vertebrae. This happened in 2011. He quickly deteriorated and died.

I had the same experience with my Father. Different sunrise facility same story. My father was in the Bloomfield facility. I hired a full time private aide because the sunrise staff did little to help him. My Dad's TV was stolen, sheets, towels, music, his sunday suit.... the did nothing and even denied that they had issues with staff stealing. They used his room as a staff lounge when he was in the hospital. And yes the administration constantly lies to residents and their families. There were severe problems with the administration of medication. Don't put your love ones there every human being deserves better. Sunrise is terribly mismanaged. Sunrise primarily hires part time people then staffs too few people to really run a facility effectively. they didn't even make his bed or call him down to the dining room. He would have starved if not for my private aide. The only good thing I can say about it is that the facility is beautiful, don't be fooled. Remember the saying" all that glitters is not gold.... the way they treat people and their residents is purely ugly.

My mother just died after 17 months at Sunrise. The last month or so in dementia care. She died a horribly painful death with inhouse people and hospice doing little. Issues with leaving her in bed soiled, not making her bed, dirty mattress, not adhering to diet restrictions, not addressing missing clothing, missing shoes, bad laundry service issues, getting other peoples clothes, lack of compassion and honesty of LPN care manager, dishonesty to family, dual stories about why morphone wasn't administered as needed. On and on and on. Rocking toilet, towels missing from bathroom regularly, lost dentures, broken toilet paper role. Have you heard enough. My father is still on his own but will NEVER be put in there after what happened with my dear Mother begging for help because of pain.
