It used to be much better. We had Smiley ..so kind and involved in everyone's lives. Kathy could keep the place full and Gwen was phenominal. As the nurse I did my best to be a patient manager, because I tried but could not do more, It hurts that Bickford had such a grat reputation and it is slipping away. I haear it from my nursing friends and collegues. We need a director who knows the pople and doesn't look through them as I have been told by several tennants of yours. I believed so much in the Cottage when I started. I asked 4 times to be backup nurse tohelp ease trensition and I got NO REPLY from any one, Gwen was offered Kathy's position by Smiley and Gay and yet the company went with an ousider. I used to say Bickford was the best I had ever hoped to work for. Now I just say check your options. It's very said since I visit the residentsoften and hear their frustrations, but can't really address them. A resident can't just get toast and coffe for breakfast or fresh fruit on ceral. That's obserd. I hope you know what's going on. Bickford residents in Portage are being told that they are sacrificing for Battle Creek. Many people are set to leave and the community is not as big of a supporter as it was, and it is getting worse.
