As a RN I have certain expectations yet understand the challenges a LTC/rehab facility and staff have. As a family, we were very involved and as a nurse, I had certain expectations for my father's care. I visited any time, day or night and never found things to be an issue.
When I was in town I spoke to the staff at least daily and from AZ I called to find out labs, review meds, spoke to his PT/OT therapist for updates at least 3 times/week. They were polite and didn't complain and recognized it as being proactive in his health and recovery. It is ALWAYS beneficial for advocating for your own care. I felt I was reasonable and respectful in my expectations, but I had several of them and they worked hard in meeting them.
Overall, he was unhappy about going to rehab but his experience at Medilodge of Taylor was a positive one and should we ever have to seek such assistance again, there would be no shopping around...he would return to Medilodge of Taylor.
Thank you staff for making his experience as pleasant as it could be.

I would check this place out before putting a loved one in there. My mom was in there and we did not have a very good experience at all.

Response: I read many glowing reviews, but I too would not send a dog there. They say their goal is to get you well and home. After a short time at this facility for rehab, the social worker suggested that my husband " could make this his home." I couldn't afford it snd she said he could be on medicaid. Then I was informed he would never be able to go home because of his dementia. I was deemed incapable of providing him a safe environment.
So I had him transferred to another facility where he had been before. My demented delirious husband was of clear mind within a few days. He scored 13 on Sims test. There was no justification for him to live in a nursing home for the rest of his life.
Some staff members were great, but there is a nurse that needs her license pulled. Not impressed with doctor either or the social worker.
In two days my husband will be coming home under my care and he will be safe, much safer than he was at Medilodge!
It was a traumatic experience.

i wouldn't take my dog 2 this dump the staff sucks and the wound care does 2 and the drs. r a joke my mother almost died because they were not taking care of her she couldn't walk or talk so they left her 2 lay there and rot when she got 2 the hospital they were very upset with this place she was dehydrated, low potassium and iron ,pneumonia, bladder infection, blood infection, severe necrosis, and her wounds were not being taken care of all of this from a facility that looks and smells great!!!don`t waste your loved ones life!!!!.To add to all of this we were also told that because she could not talk she was not allowed to eat or drink anything either and we were told this by the doctor there, she was only there about 2 weeks and she lost about 20 0r 30 pounds in that time. She went straight to I.C.U. at Heritage hospital where she remained at for 12 days and they wanted to send her to another long care facility after being in the hospital for 12 days because she still needed medical attention.

Response: Please take time to read this review before sending your loved ones here.
