we moved my grandmother from a nursing home where she had been abused, we found the Stratford House thank heaven for them, they got her talking, singing again and her care and staff was wonderful, she eventually went into hospice and was given only weeks to live she had such good care that she lived to be 100 years old! The hospice nurses could not believe that she lived that long, we are so happy that we chose this home, they treated us like family, my grandmother especially loved the home cooking and the chocolate pudding!!!!!!!!!!!!

The management here sucks. They are very unprofessional when it comes to there employees and make up false altercations so they can easily fire them with out pay. There is a manager at the house who work but never know anything you have to always contact the Owner. No staff meetings. People staying the downstairs of the home. They allow children to come to the place of work. Very unprofessional.

Response: I agree. I worked there one night and never receive my pay because I simple didnt fill out an application. Im like are you serious. The house was nice but they way the treat there staff is horrible on every major. You will never keep consist staff if you not sure how to run a business.

Response: Why wouldnt they pay you because you didnt fill out an application. Dont you suppose to fill out the application first and then work, Backwards. My mother will not be there because, if you cant treat your employees with respect how can you treat my mother with respect.

Response: When a staff member sleeps on the job they are neglecting my patients I will not except a lack of respect to my patients that I love dearly automatic dismissal! I will not tolerate abuse!

Description of Stratford House in Troy, MI

    Number of Beds : 3

Stratford House enriches your life with the very best in assisted living, independent living, memory care and hospice services through a caring community. Assisted living offers a warm, supportive, and nuturing atmosphere for individuals who require some help but still want to keep their self-reliance. Why choose assisted living? Studies reveal that living near peers and participating in social activities leads to a more fulfilling life. With assisted living, you'll find senior-friendly living options and a dedicated staff. Communities have additional services that include 24-hour supervision and security, emergency response systems, access to licensed nursing care, chef-prepared meals, and assistance with grooming, dressing, and bathing. Housekeeping, laundry, social programs, and local transportation are usually provided, too. This community, a comprehensive independent living community, allows you to do as you wish, when you wish, but without the burdens of home ownership that can tie you down and take up your time. Serving both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as senior apartments, retirement villages, and communities for 55 and older. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with a variety of community amenities, services, and programs tailored specifically for seniors. Your personal belongings, such as furniture and favorite mementos, can move to your new home with you. With maintenance, groundskeeping, and housekeeping taken care of, seniors can focus on goals and passions instead of the daily demands of home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. Community services and amenities usually include fitness clubs, dining facilities, swimming pools, golf courses, hiking trails, social events, and more. The personal interests of memory care residents at Stratford House are always honored and respected. Along with the care and detailed attention they receive from specialists in Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, they are encouraged by dedicated staff to pursue the things they love, and always with a spirit of compassion, trust, and teamwork. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a dedicated staff that is skilled in techniques unique to memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private residences with twenty-four-hour support. Three healthy meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment support mental stimulation. Grounds typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to enjoy. Behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming are provided as well. Stratford House provides a low-maintenance lifestyle and the assistance seniors need to enjoy retirement. With comprehensive assisted living, independent living, memory care and hospice services, and with a caring environment, seniors can feel relaxed and secure. An assisted living community provides help when necessary with the goal of supplying the services required to stay as autonomous as possible. With independent living, you can do as you wish, when you wish, but without the burdens of home ownership that can take up your time. Memory care gives a higher level of attention, intellectual stimulation, along with comfortable, secure accommodations.
