Staff is friendly and generally knowledgable.

Private rooms boast large handicapped accessible bathrooms that are well stocked with fresh linens each day.

Resident activities:
1st (main) Floor: activities are well organized and timely when conducted on the more visible first floor.
2nd Floor: Activities scheduled for the 2nd floor (less visible floor) are often late or forgotten - leaving residents who have gathered for the event, left in confusion.

Living Area and Air Quality:
1st Floor: Living area and air quality is good and the space is bright and cheery on the more visible 1st floor.
2nd Floor: air quality is poor, heavy humidity, strong odor of mold in and around hallways and rooms located on the South East wing - which appears to also be distributed in ventalation system. Within 48 hours of my mother's placement on the 2nd floor, she required a visit to the ER for respitory distress - which was determined to be a result of air pollutants (mold/humidity).

Call Light Response: Expect slow response time from staff on Short Term Care Unit. Satisfactory responses in Longer Term units.

Nursing Staff: Satisfactory - monitor your loved ones MEDs closely! The norm is to treat your loved ones "symptomatically" rather than "diagnostically." Example: My mother was in respitory distress from fluid build up in lungs (resulting from air quality on 2nd floor). Was offered pain medication as a remedy. Luckily, I was there to ensure appropriate action was taken. My mothers condition required a trip to the ER where she was diagnosed, treated, released, and brought home.

Staff was notified of the air quality and promises of remediation were made.
