The building is nice and that's about it. At one time it may have been a safe place for your loved ones. I went there to visit my loved ones. I found a woman outside with no coat in February. I escorted her back inside only to find out that she was in memory care. They were very worried about who found her. I also plan to file a civil suit. I was treated the same way kezia treated this woman. She does lie. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE

I want to let everyone know what a wonderful experience we have had with this facility. Our family no longer has concerns for my mother's safety and well being. The Commons has not only provided a lovely place for my Mother to live, but above all the staff has provided a second family to my mom. Mom is making friends and becoming involved with the social activities as well. The staff are friendly and helpful, always striving to make things right for each individual. I would highly recommend this facility for any family looking for a wonderful environment to have a loved one live.

Take this review as a warning, One of my biggest regrets is putting my father in this place. The commons on Marice played a good talk to get us to sign the lease, but once we got in there we soon realized it was all lies. Keizea the director of services told us a number of lies, and turned out to be quite cold once we got my father moved in there. Never once personally checking on him until 3 WEEKS after we moved in. 3 weeks was all we could take from this place. The aides were rude whenever my father rang his bell, yelling at him telling him that he didn't need the help he had requested, and that he could do it himself. One aide refused to even assist him with his bathroom needs and left him on the toilet for well over an hour. One afternoon I came to take my father to his doctors appointment, and noticed some mysterious bruises on both his arms like he had been grabbed and shaken. He told me a staff member became angry with him when he refused to have the nurse take care of all his medications. They try to get you to use all of the services they offer but never tell you how much you will be paying for the services. $15 per every 15 minutes for someone to come up for 5 minutes and help you find something.. That's taking advantage of the elderly who they know need the help. I'm more than disgusted with The Commons on Marice, and my family is looking into a civil lawsuit on the way they treated my father. Another thing that really bothered me about The Commons is the way everyone who was a resident there looked and talked like they were heavily sedated on medication. The nurse was not warming or friendly at all, and also told my father lies along with majority of the staff there. They will NOT take good care of your loved one, I NEVER met one staff member who gave me the secure feeling that my father was in good hands and being well taken care of. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE TO THE COMMONS, I WARN YOU, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Response: The above review is a shock to me. My mother in law lived at the commons for her last few years, and my mother lives there currently. I have been impressed and pleased by almost everything at the commons from the first time I visited to the last time I was there. (today) It is well maintained, well staffed, and well managed. The staff is helpful and friendly, and I have absolutely never seen anything resembling impatience or discourtesy on the part of anyone there, even when the staff was faced with belligerent and hostile residents. The staff is skillful and diplomatic to a fault.
The comments about the residents being "sedated" is also not consistent with my experience. To the contrary, the staff philosophically rejects over-medicating the residents, and has been very careful about honoring the wishes of the family in such things.
The staff is also very diligent and consistent about reporting to the family about "incidents" at the commons - for instance, when the residents have little tussles, and when they have problems with overflowing the sink, or other things.
The commons is also diligent and creative in ensuring that every resident has options and activities, frequently. Walks, sing-alongs, a "shopping bus", parties on holidays. They work hard to make it a great place to live.
I find the commons to be an excellent facility. In my opinion, the review above does not resemble the commons at all.

Facility is great for a fully funcional, non-active senior who is health. However if you begin to require additional needs they don't want you in the facility and will have you removed.
