Not impressed with Barnes care. I had heard they had a good reputation but after my dad was in there I was going to pull him out after a week. I was deceived about nurses being on staff when all it is is PCA's. They said their PCA's could handle it. When my dad was getting not to be mobile. They don't check on the residents. They let them sit in their stool for 4 hours. All I saw was the workers in the office talking with each other and on their cell phones. Also they don't have a cook there. Their PCA's may try but not all of them can cook. Thinks twice before putting a loved one there. Also they told me I would get reimbursed money since my dad was only there a week. Haven't seen a dime and its almost been a month.

Amazing, we have been in many facilities, it was a breath of fresh air to bring our father to this facility. The price was great and staff are the best, with excellent nurses and great staff it's simply the best we have experienced.

My father has been at Barnes Care for about 4 years. He has received tremendous, compassionate care. Communication is always appropriate and timely. For exacerbations of acute illness, additional ancillary caregivers are welcomed to this facilitate healing without experiencing territorial conflicts. The staff demonstrates a team approach to caring for the residents.
The food has been well balanced, sufficient quantity, and when necessary, tailored to the needs of the individual resident. Families have always been welcomed during meals, and special holiday events are often with family participation. The environment is a homelike atmospere, with common areas for, visiting, and daily activities such as exercise or visiting entertainment. We feel fortunate that our loved-one is a resident there.

Most of the staff are great, however, there is way too much of turn-over in staff. It is a hard job and perhaps management should really look at why there is such of a great turn-over in staff. This aspect is very hard on the residents. I like their flexibility. I know it's hard to gage how to make, but I have been there at times, when there was not enough food to go around. That should never be the case. However, most of the time, there has been extra. However, if low of food, serve w/a quick something else, they do need their calories. Overall, no place is perfect, this is just a little feedback and overall, they are really trying to do their best. Sometimes, they are doing a really great job and they probably could use another person on staff to help. Thanks!!
