My mother was a resident in long-term care for almost two years. She celebrated her birthdays (100 and 101 years old) while there. She had lived alone until she became a resident, and was pretty independent. It was hard for her at first, but soon became familiar with staff members...even saying she loved some of them, and was very thankful for their help. She especially enjoyed playing bingo, as she had for many years. I feel she was well-cared for and respected. Staff also responded promptly to my inquiries and comments.
Also, for 10 days in that same time period, my husband was in TCU. He's a very out-going, people person. He makes friends very easily. He found out one of the staff happened to attend the same school as one of our boys, and for part of the time she was scheduled to care for him. He was even able to bring his lift-chair from home to enable him to be more comfortable while there.
Thanks again to staff for the great care given to both of my loved ones. I still stay in touch with some of the staff since my mother passed.

My 94-year-old Mom has adjusted very well to her new living arrangements at RCCC. The staff is wonderful and treat her very well. There is always plenty to do and my Mom keeps very busy. She especially loves the outdoor patio, walkways, flowers, etc.
We never thought things would go as well as they have - thanks to the kind and helpful staff I'm sure.

I have been in three different TCU's. I have no complaints about any of them. My roommates family told me about this website and I just left Ramsey Care Center last week. I have to say that at all three I got good care and good therapy. But what made this TCU stand out was the people. The staff are so nice, will just bend over backward for you. I like that. I healed and got better at the other two, but at Ramsey I enjoyed it while I was healing. I would definitely chose them if I need another stay.

Response: TCU at Ramsey County CC is great! My mom who was 84 at the time was there for what was supposed to be a brief stay after a minor toe surgery. She developed pulmonary embolism in BOTH lungs after the surgery (we did not know at the time that this was a family predisposition) and she, actually DIED when she bent over to reach for her purse. This is how they found her: slumped over, she had turned blue, her breathing and her heart have stopped and also her blood pressure was gone. Staff found her SO QUICKLY, they resuscitated her BACK TO LIFE, they called an ambulance and thanks to an enlightened nurse who told the ambulance to take my mom to a hospital that specializes in heart care, my mom continues to be alive and well! Both me and my mom are so grateful to everyone there! Guess where is my mom's permanent home now after this incident? At Ramsey County Care Center! They have absolutely THE BEST DOCTOR and THE BEST nurse practitioner both of which did more for my mom's toe to heal than the orthopedic clinic ever did! Thank you for saving my mom's life one year ago!
