Facility/owners (and some caregivers) are not versed on Dementia or Alhzeimers, which is evident with their treatment of patients - they really lack compassion.

My mother was at VCC for a few years until she passed. I have NO complaints about the RN or staff. I was always contacted if there was EVER a problem or conflict with my mother, and believe me she had a lot of spirit. We got to celebrate birthdays there with all of our family, and holidays. The staff is well trained, and very friendly.VCC is very CLEAN, LOVING STAFF, VERY INVOLVED,DEDICATED. I would reccomend VCC to anyone & everyone i know.

Website says that all employees are trained in caring for resident's with dementia and alzheimer's. This is not true. Also, the RN is not always on site.

Response: Our family had the same experience.

Very clean facility. Staff is attentive to physical care, however the owners do not have a clear grasp of the various facets of Dementia regarding associated sporadic behavior and personality changes. They were confrontational and somewhat dictatorial with our mother, rather than diffusing a given situation. Despite almost daily conversations with the home, our family was not told of any perceived issues they were having with our mom until we received a call in which they said that she had to move out. Situation required Omnbudsmanship intervention.

Response: I would believe that
