This facility is horrible. I would not put my dog here. My Father fell and broke his hip and had to be placed here for rehab. He was put on a hall with all the other residents which I feel is not a good situation. The food was horrible. He did not get his medications properly which caused him to build up fluid and had to be admitted in LA Heart Hospital in Lacombe because of it. The room set up is horrible they are not private rooms and 4 different patients have to share 1 bathroom. This is disgusting. The nurses come in to medications and rush out of the room. If you need to get up to go to the bathroom you will have to wait approx. 15-30 min. at any given time for a tech. The facility is not cleaned properly. When you walk in the front door of the rehab hall it smells of urine and feces. The rehab is a joke. They have you wheeled up to a machine like a bicycle, you clip clips on a poll, put pegs in holes etc. This had nothing to do with my father's broken hip. We recently moved him to another facility and the service is total opposite from the Covenant Health and Rehab in Picayune. We got there late at night, a nurse practitioner came to see him, lab work was drawn, EKG was done and a chest x-ray. The staff is so nice and really seem to care. The room is a private room with its own bathroom and it was very clean. The rehab is one on one working with his leg and teaching him how to stand without putting weight on his broken leg/hip. This is the type of rehab he has been needing. They have done more for him in one day than the whole month he stayed at Covenant. I will never ever recommend Covenant Health & Rehab to anyone. This is a shame that our home town of Picayune can not offer better than this.

Response: I am in need of putting my brother who has polio and recently had a major surgery into a rehab unit. After reading your review I have my doubts that Covenant Health and Rehab in Picayune is the place for his care. I would like to get the name of the facility that you found and got great care for your father. Thanks for expressing your opinion about Covenant I highly value your opinon about the health care your father received and hope he is well on his way to a full recovery
