Had a family member at Blue River for a short stay for rehab. They were shifty and did not give the medical care that they said they did!! The place looks nice, and some of the people are really caring, but the medical care is sub standard. I would not leave my dog with them for rehab. They only want to move people over into the nursing home and get paid big bucks for medicaid or insurance long term.
I would never, ever use them again!!! Do not leave you loved one there!! This place uses illegal tactics to get government money!

NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!!RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN...The best thing for this place is to close it down and start over from scratch. If you have no integrity and do not care about those you are being paid to take care of then this is the place for you. This place is the absolute place I have ever worked. 95% of the staff simply do not care. It is a filthy mess. I have seen roaches crawling on the walls, floors, and even the dining room tables. Food is served COLD.. Shower rooms are absolutely disgusting. Night shift sleeps most of the time. They come in put their things down and crawl in a chair, close their eyes and stay there. Staff is very rude and LOUD...Cursing, laughing and yelling at the nurses desk and in halls. State has done the public a huge injustice by allowing it to continue to care for our elderly. State surveyors should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to continue on.

I visited Blue River Rehab in hopes of finding a place for my grandfather, when i first walked thur the door i was really impressed with how the over all look was, very warm and friendly, they were having an ice cream social the residents looked happy. I made why down to the dining rooms whiched look great fresh flowers on all the tables, looked very homely, but as i was leaving i couldn't help but over hear a couple of nurses aides talking at the nursing station, talking about personal stuff they were very loud and a lot of cussing while there were residents present, maybe this was a one time thing, i really don't know as this was my first time visiting, if they can get this under control i think blue river would be a great place for my grandfather to stay.

Response: GET RID OF AUDREY MANNY AND PLACE WOULD BE 100% BETTER.

Response: I agree Audrey Manny should go maybe then something might be done. It is horrible.

Blue River Rehab Center is a long term care facility that has provided excellent care to my grandmother and currently to my mother. Staff is very kind and respectful. During my grandmother's passing the staff was very attentive to her and us as family members. I do agree that Suzanne is a very caring person, but there are many other caring staff members that are employed there. In reviewing their survey from Mo. Health Dept. they indicate as well Blue River Rehab Center provides excellent care for their residents. I would highly recommend you bringing your loved ones to Blue River Rehab Center as they will be well cared for.

Response: This place is horrible...Pull your Grandmother out.

Blue River used to be a top class nursing home, over the past three yrs i must say it has gone done hill very fast. The nursing staff it seems are very lazy and just don't care about the residents. The staff are rude and very uncaring, The weekend seems to be the worst. They have no leadership what so ever. The overall home is somewhat clean but at time the smell of urine is over powering which i believe to be due to resident sitting in chairs and not being taking to the bathroom. I have visited many times and have seen the same resident (women) walking around with wet pants. Not a place i would want my mother or father spending there last days. I went to visit today and i would like to say how great Suzanne Forbes is, I think she maybe the only one who really care about the well being of the residents of Blue River. Somebody needs to step in and whip this place back to shape.

Nursing home is undergoing real time changes via addition of more educated nursing staff and additional improvements to safety measures as indicated by state review

The nurses there are good workers(what is left of them) the supervisors need to go. The supervisors are creating trouble then fire those who do work to make themselves look good. Think it is B*S to work that way.

Response: BLUE RIVER IS A JOKE OF A NURSING HOME. THE NURSING STAFF ARE TOO BUSY GOSSIPING AND FIGHTING TO GIVE A @#$% ABOUT THE RESIDENTS. THE DON IS LOUD AND VERY RUDE, DOSNT KNOW HOW TO TALK TO PEOPLE, AND THE ADMISTRATER IS THE BIGGEST JOKE OFF ALL. SHE LETS THE DON AND NURSING STAFF GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING, THE RESIDENTS ARE ALWAYS WET, AND MOST OFF THE TIME LEFT IN BED ALL DAY. THEY IS ABUSE AT BLUE RIVER AND AUDREY MANNY KNOWS IT AND DOES NOTHING. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN PLACE LIKE THIS
