If someone asked me to suggest a good nursing home in the area, I would have suggested them a year ago, but they have changed dramatically and gone on a spiral downward. They promise things but don't follow through. They are polite and act helpful but telling me they will fix a problem and doing it are two different things. Don't rely on them , keep alert and check them. Their facilities over the last few months have declined frighteningly. Staff is being let go of at an alarming rate. When first going there you would see staff talking to the residents continually, now not much. There is often times an odor there now. The residents are starting to look forlorn and shoddy. If in doubt that what I am saying is true, visit the place and see for yourself. And keep visiting.

When my dad had a sudden fall due to his seizures, we were told he had to go to rehab before he could come back home. We took it upon ourselves to make an educated decision about where we sent our dad even though for some reason we were told we had to go to Brookview. After doing our research, we found a place we really felt comfortable with and wanted to choose there for dad... we were then told that we couldn't send him there because they can't provide us with the help he needs - they did - but we caved under extremem urgency pressure and he went to Brookview. We were done within three days bc of our dis-satisfaction with their services. If there is a reason the hospital made us go there, may they own the place, they should still not make us make that kind of a decision, or lack thereof. We now have dad back home, but not after moving him out of Brookview and into another rehab place in the area that we LOVED. Very confusing that we don't have a voice.

My father is a resident at Brookview Nursing home, he was transferred from another facility and we were told he would be in a facility that was "just a couple years old". No one told us that the was new rehab faclity and the facility he would be placed in is over 40 years old. I'm an RN and had I known the true nature of where he would be, he would NEVER have been placed here. We are looking for an alternate nursing home. Staff is friendly enough but only when asked something, they don't reach out much. Carpet in the hallways makes it difficult for the residents to get around in their wheelchairs and also seems to be a deterrant to cleanliness. Hallways are crowded with residents parked in wheelchairs. Food is awful, no extra attention given. Things have been stolen from my father's room, most recently a Christmas blanket I gave him just 3 days ago. Do not leave anything of value in this place, it will disappear. If I could give a ZERO star I would.

Stay away from this place. Managaement doesn't care how poorly their staff is and how they treat residents. Disrespectful, lazy employees who don't half come to work so they're always short-staffed. The employees who do come in are rotated between the two buildings so no one ever knows what's going on. Money, personal items stolen, bad food!
