This facility is a bit backwards. Quality depends on everything from which unit you are intetested and the staff they have for that day. The alzhiemers unit SCU/ and the general population units both have decent care, im being very generous when I say that. The care given on these two units is the best care available in the whole building. Their downfalls is the state of deterioration the building is in. Sure paint is good when its needed, but just look at the state reviews there have been problems with the electric on multiple occasions, and the plumbing, I'm not even going to to there. Now as for the rehabilitative units, "behavior" units Utter chaos, this has to be the worst as far as lockdown units can get. You have staff that treat residents as if they're animals, and as for the "rehab" lets just say there is no actual rehabilitation. Residents are out of control due to the fact that there is no actual structure for these patients. The "activities" provided for these patients has no true value, half of the residents can't even read or write, but the valuable time spent for activities usually ends up as a social hour where the patients "co-ed" for these activity groups just hang out, usually with minimal supervision. There is also a rampant problem on these "behavior" units, how does a patient on a lockdown facility gain access to lighters, cigarettes, and even alcohol/illegal drugs. Basicly the residents run the units, they do what they want, be it smoke in their rooms, verbally and physically attack staff, and even fighting with other residents.
So if youre looking for a home for your loved one please look for facilities that get at least 4-5 stars on their reviews. Just remember when admitting your loved ones in nursing homes/rehabilitative facilities, that place will be their home, and quality should always be number one. Dont just look around in the lobbies and think "this is a good place", get on the unit your loved one would be placed on, ask the residents how good of treatment they received.
And now for possible applicants, dont apply at this facility, you could be the best possible employee, but that doesnt matter. If a certain person doesnt like you, they will set you up for failure, or just make up false accusations about your work quality. I know of a few staff members who were terminated all because a staff member had told a resident to say that they were abused by that staff member, just because another staff member just didn't like the other employee.
When it come to medical care facilities there should be no room for work drama, patients should be number one, not the budget.
