05/01/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: Nothing.. Garrison is the worst place ever! I wouldn't put my dog in that @#$% whole. They are always under staff, and guess what they have NO WATER as we speak. The head people don't care for the residents at all cause once 5pm hits they are out the door. You would think that they would atleast buy bottle water for the people til they get the water on, but NO they don't care they are only there for a check

03/10/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: The facility is VERY DIRTY, Staff is verbally abusive, NOT FOCUSING on patient care AT ALL, seem bothered if a family member asks for help. The staff allows patients to lay in bedding with dried urine, the smell is so pungent, they fail to even wipe the patient faces after meals. Just this past Saturday, they transferred my aunt to the ER for a broken ankle, while waiting on the ambulance, the staff "cleaned her up" for the trip. In the Hospital ER, I was shown that my aunt had dried feces on her buttocks - so what does that say about the staff at Garrison who "cleaned her up?????? Regardless whether the majority of residents are Medicaid - they are STILL HUMAN BEINGS and deserve to be treated with respect and deserve compassionate care!!! Garrison Care Center...if I had guardianship, I would move my Aunt IMMEDIATELY!!! Believe me, there WILL be an investigation!!!!!!!

04/10/2013 An OurParents User Writes: Staff is very unprofessional. They do not treat the Residents with respect. They have Oxygen in use signs every where but the staff still smokes in the building. Very unorganized poor quality of care. Very aggressive towards residents if they do not comply with what the Certified Nursing Aid whats them to do. They are known for leaving used towels in the shower room, and leaving soiled briefs in the trash cans. Not up to par with keeping up with residents care plans, Very old fashion. On the good note there are about 4 Certified Nursing Aids that you can tell love working there and with the residents, and the PT and OT are great at what they do.
