After trying four other facilities for my aunt we placed her at Comfort Care Homes. In each of the other facilities we feel she was over medicated, had too many complications (specifically untreated and reoccurring urinary infections) and was not mentally or physically stimulated. This is absolutely hands down the best care facility we found and she actually significantly improved after we moved her in and has remained pretty stable considering her progressing age and dementia. The Comfort Care Home where she is living is pleasant, clean and doesn't smell or feel like a nursing home. The staff is competent and knows each patient individually and seems genuinely interested in what your expectations are as far as the care they are providing. Unfortunately, because Comfort Care Homes does not qualify for Medicaid due to what can only be described as outdated and unneccessary regulations (i.e. each resident must have a room that has a private bathroom) we are facing having to relocate my aunt to another nursing home. This is rather ironic since most of the other nursing homes she was in never bothered to even make a regular attempt to toilet her like Comfort Care does. Based on our previous experiences we know the care after we move her from Comfort Care will be inferior to what she is currently receiving and probably more expensive for Medicaid. Please consider Comfort Care Homes for your loved one this is a great alternative to your typical nursing home care for Alzheimer patients. Comfort Care gave our family peace of mind that we were getting the best care possible for my aunt considering the challenges of her dementia and at a fair price.

Response: i so agree with this-medicaid money is so waisted in most nursing facilities-places like this are the best for dementia-in all stages, getting more one on one care in a more quiet -less populated home. I currently am having so much difficulty finding appropriate care for my Mother since she is medicaid dependent. So sad their final years have to be like this. She worked hard and paid into the system and this is her reward.
