My mother is in Manor Care and I have to constantly request assistance for her and usually it takes at least 4 or 5 times to get any results, IF I do. She calls me constantly because they won't help her. The nurses and CNA's are wonderful but don't expect much. Often her medicines run out because no one called the pharmacy for a refill when they got low. Even her Parkinson's medication which she HAS to have. Non medical staff is sub-par and many act annoyed at having to even deal with these patients. It's about time for a burned out staff to be replaced in my opinion. I've spent 3 days now trying to get her a simple cold medication which hasn't been done and yet the state tells me "I'm" not able to watch her 24 hrs. a day. These people aren't either! There's also a horrible smell that's nauseating when you go in the wing she's in but nothing seems to be done, showers are "when convenient" or they have hot water, and I often see residents being ignored or treated rudely. No one is being abused but rather ignored.

We were told they had not received dr orders when we heard the dr give orders before my husband was transfered there. He had a total hip replacement at nnmc then sent there for rehab. Went to see him after work and found him in a sweat soaked bed because he had not gotten his pain meds for9hrs that the dr ordered every4. Had not even received his insulin. Would not let them take care of my dog, let alone someone I care about. Summed up , they are indifferent and uncaring.

Unfortunately, I had my mother in here for a week. I should have taken her out after the first day !! Staff was ok, except for the female physical therapist. She has no empathy for anyone. She should be fired. My mom actually cried when I told her that she would not be staying there any longer. She was so happy she did not have to endure one more day in this place. Before you place a loved one in this place, PLEASE do you research !!

If this is what life looks like when a person can't take care of themselves, I'd rather have them hand out suicide pills. Awful place.
