Hello ., I worked for Colonial Poplin for some time.
I love the owners because they are kind ,caring, about all the Residents, an staff. any time I see someone who works there I ask how everyone is , and tell them how that was the best job I ever had . I moved on for personal reasons. and I am now retired.. If I could I would go back in a minute. If I ever need care that is were I would want my family to bring me.. oh I am proud to give my name . I would like to comment on the owners being fake. They are very fake. They only care about the almighty dollar. Residents come second. Don't ever put your family member there!!

Response: I would like to say that the comments about the owners being fake is so true. Have you ever heard of management not being able to help staff because they were under the influence of alcohol! Don't ever put a loved one at this facility

I've had my mom in and out of the nursing home, but mostly in Assisted Living for five years now. I like the place. My mom likes the place. They aren't perfect, and we've had our "issues" along the way, which Poplin did work with me to revolve, but I all in all, I am comfortable with her being there and feel she gets good care. Some of the staff are outstanding. The place does feel like home, and if your parent is an animal lover, there are dogs and birds in residence and visiting all the time. Friends of hers who have visited have been pleasantly surprised with how nice and home-like it is. My mom has done well since being there and I hope I can afford to keep her there : )

Wow.I stumbled into the email below and am taken back by the accusation of the owners being fake! I would think walking into a place with management in suit coats, pressed trousers and ties is more fake than anything. These owners live close by and treat this as home. In fact, Colonial Poplin is renovating resident rooms which I am sure is not cheap. To say they are about the bottom dollar is outrageous. They are about real people because they are real people. And the staff... can't say enough.

I was always taught to consider the source. A clearly angry, negative individual commenting at 1AM speaks volumes.

At Colonial Poplin and Poplin Way the resident comes first. Resident safety, comfort and satisfaction is why we exist.

This is Justin Philbrick, Vice President of Colonial Poplin and I would like to respond to the comments regarding the owners not caring and being about the dollar. First, the comment about letting staff go is completely inaccurate. To date, all staff members but one who have been let go have done so either on their own accord or have been separated for cause bbecause of infractions. All staff in all departments are held to the highest of standards regardless of position or tenure. If my Brother and I were about the money, we would employ far less staff with far less qualification as many Homes do. And as far us being about money, no further could be the truth. For thirty years Colonial Poplin was a 50 bed nursing home and rehabilitation facility. On September 6th we converted licensure to primarily supported residential care with 16 rehab beds. This occurred in order for the Family Business to survive and not find its way to bankruptcy or corporate buyout. This licensure change made a huge impact on the private pay residents who now pay anywhere between $2500-$3500 less per month for the same superb care our Facilities have the reputation for. In fact, the transition also allows for even more direct resident care. These components do not exist if Jeff and I only think of money. I extend an open invitation to any and all who wish to visit or even just call. We hide nothing and are very proud of our Homes here in Fremont. Those who wish to tread on negativity are entitled to hold their own opinions however we promote positive environments for our residents, their families and our staff. I welcome anyone through our doors to experience this firsthand. If ever a need for further information, please be in touch and render your own opinion from what you both hear and see. ~Justin

Do not bring your loved ones to colonial poplin. I am so tired of hearing about their 5 star rating and their phenomanal reputation. These owners are so fake. Do they tell you how they have let go 8 nurses in the past two months due to their big change in the building? Some that have been there for 25 yrs. With no regard to their feelings . These owners are cold and only care about the almighty dollar!

Colonial Poplin is wonderful. My grandmother received wonderful care here. The staff take very good care of the residents, and the place feels like home. I never felt rushed when I visited. They have a cafe so you can eat with a resident there. My grandmother never complained, There was no "nursing home" smell here either. It would be nice if more nursing homes were like Colonial Poplin.
