User Reviews

12/26/2010  -  An OurParents User Writes:

My mother was a resident at Brighton Gardens of Cherry Hill. She had a fall in her room which left her paralyzed. Rehabilitative care was required. When I inquired as to the circumstances of the fall, I never received a telephone call back. My mother was malnourished and dehydrated when she entered the hospital immediately after the fall. The staff at Brighton Gardens had allowed her to refuse meals and liquids. The nursing staff and administrator NEVER returned any of my phone calls after her fall.

Response: You did not state whether of nor she had dementia? Did you expect them to force feed her? Why didn't you put a peg tube in? Did you not visit your mother to find out that she was not eating.

Response: people taking care of the elderly need to encourage them to eat & drink whether or not they want to - sometimes aides need to sit w/them while the eat or stand w/them while they drink - having to many people to care for is not an excuse -
