If you care about your love one don't send them tothe HIGHLANDS IN EDISON NEW JERSEY ON INMAN AVE>

Response: This facility should be re-named" no care facility" not a one care facility. I had the opposite experience from yours in some ways. I couldn't get my brother out of this HELL HOLE!
I spent an entire day there trying to get my brother transported back to the hospital. The people in charge were in meetings most of the day. After finally getting someone to pay attention at 5 p.m. they assured me he would be transported to the hospital. He never was!! He died there the next morning from their neglect. His last text to me read "no response for 2 hours."

I must say we got more than we ever expected. our loved one left the highlands with bed sores,(and when I was in room her diaper was fimally changed without her even being cleaned up. she was finally unable to feed herself but her food tray was placed by her and left.) she also had undiagnosed bronchitis, dehydration, excessive weight loss, i think you get the point. if you care about your family member please do not admit them to the highlands.all my mother did was cry and beg me to take her home. she just knew she would die there. and she nearly did.

The care sucks. They don't explain the costs after Medicare. The entire place is dingy. Most of the staff does not help they left my mom laying in a dirty diaper for an hour. They told her to stop being a pain in the @#$%.. there is nothing on her chart about the 2 falls she had. A fat nurse refused to go to her room to clean a puddle of water leaking from AC unit. I am still waiting for refund check 3 weeks later and explaination of the billing.

My mother was there and that was the last place she was. I never got to talk to my mother. This nursing home never called to tell me that my mom was being transport toa hospital. I got a phone call from the hospital for them to tell me that my mom was being put on a ventilater. I went to this place the next day and someone was suppose to call me the next day to answer why I wasn't notified. That was three weeks ago and I still haven't received a phone call. I never got to talk to my mom again. She died June 16 2013. They are just unconsidered of people. The staff just don't care about their patients or families.

I had my parent at this facility and we couldnt be happier. Everyone was very helpful and met every need we had. My father was there for 4 weeks and we saw improvement in his condition from day 1. I recommend this place for anyone that needs there services.

I wouldn't let my dog stay there! Having my Mother there has been the worst experience of our lives. The staff is only concerned with feeding the residents and nothing more. I personally witnessed my mother's roommate sitting in a chair for 16 hours straight without anyone coming to assist her. This place is the pits with the exception of 1 or 2 nurses who actually know what they are doing... the rest should not be working in health care. From the moment my mother arrived for re-hab, which was not even initiated until I badgered several people, they made one mistake after another. Luckily my mother had her wits about her enough to not accept the medication they tried to give even though she had a glaring allergy tag on her wrist. I personally would rather die than have to spend one night in this facility.
