Seabrook Village @ Tinton Falls, NJ(an Ericson Community) doesn't lift a finger to STOP THE STEALING. An expensive item was stolen from my parents' apartment and NOTHING WAS EVER DONE TO FIND THE CULPRIT OR LOCATE THE STOLEN ITEM. NOTHING!!!!!!!

01/05/2012  -  An OurParents User Writes:

Well-maintained facility. ADA accessible -- but the scale of the complex is simply too huge for mobility-impaired persons. Buy-in and monthly costs are high compared to other facilities. Beware of the requirement to purchase your unit, and of the organization's absolute control of the sales process. My parents moved out and have waited 18 months (so far) for their unit to "sell" so their $300,000 buy-in can be returned to them. In the meantime Erickson enjoys interest-free use of that substantial amount of cash...

Response: That's because, like you said, they are the real estate agent. If they need monies in the RG building or elsewhere, your apartment they will not show and if they do they the potential buyer has to be tested for memory. And that's the avenue you the buyer HAS TO GO.
Hey, more $ in their pocket.

11/01/2011  -  An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes:

BEWARE - WARNING - My parents, Joseph and Lena Fishman lived here and passed away this summer in June and July of 2011. Three alleged employees of Erickson assisted my brother in forging my father's Will. The notary and both witnesses were alleged employees at the time of this crime. This has torn our family apart and my brother and sister will be criminally prosecuted. If you have parents at this facility contact your lawyer to make sure your parents sign no documents without you present. Get a Power of Attorney to make sure what happened to me and our family can't happen to you. Don't place the POA in the name of a family member but instead in the name of an attorney specializing in senior care. When the State is finished prosecuting my brother and sister, I will be suing Erickson Living. I have created a website where you can post problems to help others avoid the pain I am suffering. Visit my website at or contact me at

Response: I see employees putting a pen in residents hands, smiling and talking nice to individuals who could barely see and others who don't remember, sign papers. No family member around, no phone call to a family member. Cause Seabrook has all control of dollars, etc.

Seabrook Village is a nursing home. It provides medical nursing service for seniors with serious illnesses or disabilities twenty-four hours a day, delivered by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nurse aids.

Nursing care facilities cater to several types of patients: some patients require short-term rehab while recovering from surgery; others require long-term nursing and medical supervision. In addition, some nursing homes offer specialized care programs for Alzheimer's or other illnesses, or short-term respite care for frail or disabled persons when a family member requires a rest from providing care in the home. Please note that you can help compare nursing homes by looking at the Medicare ratings of a given facility (Medicare has a 5-star rating system for comparing nursing homes). There are various ways for paying for care in a nursing home. Make sure you know your loved one's Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, and understand how you can use tools like long term care insurance to pay for nursing home care.

Also, Seabrook Village is an assisted living facility. Assisted living facilities are an apartment-style habitat designed to focus on providing assistance with daily living activities. They provide a higher level of service for the elderly which can include preparing meals, housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, and also do regular check-in's on the residents. Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

Also, Seabrook Village is a Senior Community. Senior communities are for seniors who can take care of themselves. It is often a set of apartments in a variety of sizes from studios to large two bedrooms, where seniors live independently, but may receive additional services like transportation, pools, a convenience store, bank, barber/beauty shop, resident laundry, housekeeping, and security, are all services and amenities that may be provided there.

Also, Seabrook Village facility provides Alzheimer's care. This means it has special safeguards for wandering seniors, and caregivers are trained in handling dementia behaviors.
