Care is terrible! Nurses don't seem to care very much about the residents and leave most of the care to the aides who appear overworked. Most nurses have a poor attitude when approached, like you are bothering them. They NEVER make eye contact when you are walking towards them nor say hello. When approaching the nurses, you commonly receive the statement that they are "giving report" to the oncoming shift nurses almost an hour after shift change. It's an exercise in patience to try to find anything out from the case managers as far as when your loved one is going to be evaluated/reassessed. I waited over two hours to speak to a case manager that was supposed to come into my family member's room to talk to me. The individual never came. No one explains the process or what to expect (e.g. family meetings, physical rehab plan, patient's overall plan of care, menu) from day one through the patient's entire length of stay. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Do not put your loved one in this facility unless you plan on being there every day to check on them and follow-up with appropriate staff on their behalf.

Response: Amen! Worst experience of our lives. Terrible treatment, disrespectful, hostile staff, mrefused to show my mom respect or even train hed in the basic self care skills she had in previous therapy centers.,a complete waste of time. I beg anyone reading this to not send their loved one there. Doctorsvare even disrespected by staff, horrible place!!

Watch out for this place! At first when you are considering them they are very compasionate and caring for your loved one. Once you are in, they are all about the profit. They will rob your loved one blind. No ethics and if you question them, the nursing staff will neglect your family member. It's unfortunate because there are some good staff people working here but the administration is dishonest. Truly a for profit institution. Beware.

    Response: I completely agree!

Response: Really have NO IDEA how this place got 5 stars. It's a house of horrors.

Response: Do NOT even think to send your loved one there. A woman I knew went to rehab there after breaking her ELBOW, and she DIED.

Yes, you read that right, she DIED. Shortly thereafter, another woman who lived there for ten years or more due to being in a wheelchair but otherwise healthy, DIED.

People screaming "nurse, nurse, help me, help me" and being ignored. People pressing the call button for assistance to the rest room and being ignored. People getting out of bed themselves to go to the bathroom, falling and breaking bones. Bedridden people having food trays placed down in their room out of reach, only to be taken away 45 minutes later, untouched.

Benign neglect would be a complimentary description of the quality of care at Care NONE.

Stay away from this place! For some reason, at first you feel that they are doing their job, but if your loved one doesn't 100% cooperate, they will destroy him permanently with drugs, sedatives, psychotics, bad, bad stuff that they will never recover from...and if he still doesn't so cooperate, they will call the cops when you re not there to see what really happened, and get him out! This is a warning. Stay away.

My mother is currently at CareOne (November, 2011) and I am very thankful for the quality of care she is getting. The sad reality of any managed care setting (think: nursing home) is that it's at best, a 50-50 crap shoot, odds that nobody likes when it comes to the care of their elderly parent. At CareOne at Valley, I'd have to say that 80% of the aides and 75% of tne nurses are outstanding. Stand out nurses include Carole, John, Beverly, Gersey, Linda and Denelle (sp?). Aides like Gloria, Sean, Carol, Michelle and many others are wonderful beyond thanks. The director of Social Services, Stefan and the nursing director, Marion, are caring, attentive and excellent with follow-up. Stefan has repeatedly gone above and beyond to make sure my mother's comfort level was optimized, not easy when anxiety is such a large part of her condition. Yes, for a small minority, working at CareOne may be just "a job," but for the majority, helping seniors is their profession and their calling. You can't put a price on peace of mind. CareOne was the best choice possible and provides the best care to my Mom, under very trying circumstances.

Response: Did you spend much time there? That's the problem. People spend an hour or two and think everything is great. I've spent 6 and 7 hours at a time and found it to be a poor facility.
