My Mother and Father in law moved into Crestwood Manor several years ago. They thought they would have a home until they died. After a couple of years they were forced to move to another apartment they did not like or want. No one should be forced to move at their age. They were dined well until after they moved in. The dining has consistently gone downhill. My husband and I came up for a holiday dinner with them. The turkey was not cooked. My salad came with mustard instead of dressing. The food was just awful. I filled out the comment card. I requested that someone contact me to discuss the terrible meal that my Mother in law paid way too much for. No one called. I have tried to call them to no avail sometimes. The phone doesn't ring in their apartment sometimes for hours. I can get switched to a switchboard answering system or something weird. The phone will just randomly disconnect while I am talking to them.
My Mother in law pays to have housekeeping come. She has to move everything before they get there. She can't have pictures or mementos of any sort because it is too difficult for her to move the things. Everything is extra money.
I tried to get them to move in with us because I was worried they would be taken advantage of. I was right. with what they are paying I could have had them living with us and eating wonderful healthy food for every meal. A housekeeper to be there everyday while my husband and I are at work. The elderly people there are paying so much money they should be treated so much better. I would definitely tell people to not put their parents in that place.

Crestwood Manor nursing home used to be a caring facility, but those days are over. They constantly under staff the nurses and aides on every shift and everyone winds up suffering. It has become an unsafe facility for those that can't care for themselves. The management has become a joke and the nurses seem to think that everyone is there for their benefit and the patients are a nuisance. The nursing home wing is treated horribly compared to the rest of the facility and the food is awful. They need to "clean house" and replace those in management and nursing that are ruining the place. They rely on a very young director with no actual experience and a horrible director of nursing who got her position through nepotism and seems to be the root of all the bad care. It wouldn't take much to fix the nursing home wing but they lost so many good CNA's and nurses that it is just unsafe there now. We had to move our grandmother to a different facility because it is so bad there now.

I expected my grandmother to transition from nursing home to assisted living. Instead, her stay at that nursing home decreased the quality of life.

Response: this facility does NOT have a licensed (by the State of NJ) assisted living facility. The expanded services program is not assisted living

I had moved my Mom to crestwood manor nursing home, thinking that it was a smaller facility, and that they would be able to take better care of my mom than the bigger facilities out there.I most say that I, and my mom were VERY DISAPPOINTED. I found the facility to be a VERY COLD place. Most of the staff had absolutely NO BEDSIDE manor what so ever. Not very friendly people at all. My mom even had some very special things stolen from her, which I think was pretty rotten to steal from an elderly person. And, all I got was a IM SORRY. Therefore, I WOULD NOT recommend this facility to ANYONE!!!
