Mrs. MS did her short term rehab here and gave the facility an 8 out of 10; she says she will recommend the facility to others, and, if she needs short term rehab in the future, she will return here.

Please stay FAR, FAR away from this facility. The is no care. The call bell never gets answered. Nurse's indicate medication administered when in fact it was never administered. I felt that my dignity and rights where violated. You can go into this facility as a very happy person and leave very Depressed. I would not allow my dog in this establishment. Management is at it poorest. I also heard that the employees checks bounce. There is no heat, no hot water, food served cold, dinner is a cold meal consisting of sandwiches. The rating I would give is NEGATIVE 100%. Stay FAR, FAR away. There are better facilities in OC.

MR. RR rehabbed here and is discharging with excellent restoration of function, to return to his pre-illness life. His wife has received guidance and education in how to care for his longer term needs, and he has expressed satisfaction with his care.

Every facility has its ups and downs, this facility is doing better both on survey and with residents themselves. Some staff need discipline and lessons in professionalism, but most of them are good, caring and decent people who love what they do. As a guest, I have eaten the food myself and find it to be just fine. The owners have put a lot of effort into the environment and decor, and it looks great.

most horrible place I have lived and which to never go back again, not fit for a dog

07/07/2014  -  An OurParents User Writes:

As a former resident of Campbell Hall I considered lucky to have gotten out alive. All of the reviews listed below are far to mild and I personally would not place a dead dog, much less a human being in this facility. I was placed here because I was told I had to go to the 1st nursing home with an open vacancy. The person from Social Services guaranteed me that this was a 'nice facility'. Wrong on every count. I cried every day, my healthcare code of dignity was violated every day, the aides were the scum of the earth and thought nothing of letting a man with dementia 'feel parts of her body, saying "who is he going to tell anyway, let him have his jollys". The nursing staff was just as ignorant and sanitary cautions were not utilized. I only saw the house doctor there, no other evaluations. Laundry was a joke, they marked your clothes with a magic marker, there supposedly activities..cutting and coloring, no stimulation, nothing for an alert resident. I was at that time not educated in my rights and the NYS rules, but now that I know the difference and am in a COUNTY nursing home I certainly know my rights and the quality of care entitled to a resident in a nursing home. There is no quality of care in for-profits...it is called 'for-profit' for a reason. The owner literally rapes the place for all it is worth, gets millions by not providing services and giving the bare minimum. Then when things get really bad, he sells the JOINT (that's what it really is) and it starts all over again with a new owner. The residents sit in the hall with their coats on (no heat) they look frightened (they are) they look like derelicts, the bells ring all day, they are barely staffed, ask what is on the second floor..as soon as the elevator opens you can smell 'it'. I came face to face with an employee from the DOH. I asked him if he ever went to Campbell Hall and he replied "YES". I then asked him how he keeps that place open and it was then that the got up and walked away. I hear that is what they do when they do the yearly state survey. They go into the owner's office and walk out. If any of the resident's have family they remove them immediately. Pity the ones who have no one for they are sentenced to a life of misery. I am writing this so if anyone accesses this site they know the truth about this facility and my hope is that more people will report them for abuse and neglect of people who did nothing wrong but need CARE. There is nothing to LIKE about this facility and everything you read about the horrendous nightmares in places like this are true. We need more decent nursing homes in OC and places like these should be padlocked. God pray for the souls inside those walls.

Response: Thank you for your honest review. I hope you are doing much better, and I wish the State would investigate them.

I agree that the state should shut this place down!

10/29/2013  -  An OurParents User Writes:

This is such a depressing place, non-caring staff, the rehab section is a disgrace!!! The poor patients my heart goes out to them. If you are looking for a place for your elderly family member or anyone in your family DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT bring them there that place should be called Campbell Hell. It is so disgustingly dirty and such a sad place.

10/16/2013  -  An OurParents User Writes:

Do yourself a favor and don't place a loved one there. This place is so poorly run and the people there just don't care.....should not be allowed to be open

Response: Thank you for the info.

Horrible place the staff is terrible and noone ever answers the phone so don't bother calling to check on your family member. This place smells horrible and it is dirty they should be ashamed of themselves and it should be closed....

10/04/2013  -  An OurParents User Writes:

This place is a disgrace and it saddens me that people have to live there. I am getting my family member out of that dump the State should be ashamed of allowing that place to remain open. Do NOT and I repeat Do NOT bring your family member there you will regret it with all your being.

08/16/2013  -  An OurParents User Writes:

Very poorly run and un organized. The food is second rate and the food service director thinks she knows it all. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. It is all about the money to the owner. I do not want my parent there ever again.

Response: So glad people actually post the truth about this place ..
