My grandparents lived here for many years. When they passed away we found out that my grandparents entire (millions just all gone-everything) financial fortune had been embezzled by the "Rabbi". We later found out that he is not even a real Rabbi (do the research). Gerwin took possession all their belongs, jewelry, cars, and bank accounts days after their passing. In addition Gerwin had our grandparents sign away extra money on a monthly basis and believe me they were not known to give away money. The family could not raise enough money to fight them as they are super powerful legally and "other ways" in the Jewish community. I hope this post will help others in the future to stay away from these dangerous ruthless illegal criminals who more then likely do this all the time.

The great press this place gets is not what you will actually get. My mom is in for rehab (short stay) following a hip replacement. So far she has been brought to the wrong room after therapy and when the aide was told, "this was the wrong room" said, "well, I have to go" and then my mom was left alone in the wrong room. She had to wheel herself back to her own room when she was not clinically ready to do so. Need pain meds? Request them far in advance because you can die waiting for them. Need help transfering from the bed to the chair or vica versa? Again, you can wait forever. My mom was left in the bathroom, naked, with the door open by a mean, yes as in nasty, aide who twice jostled her roomate's broken leg causing severe pain. Want a shower, you only get 2 per week. Have you heard how great the food is? Don't believe it. They are understaffed for sure.

There are some bright spots here, but mostly in a few individual staff members who do really care. Unfortunately, there are not enough bright spots.

Response: in reply to this review, i really feel this is a disgrace, any staff with an attitude is something should not be tolerated and should be fired , in this time of extreme unemployment i'm sure someone would welcome the opportunity to work at Gurwin , I thought as you that this was one of the best facilities how disappointing hope all is better with your mom
