Lockport Presbyterian Home is surrounded by 4 acres of beautiful land including several gazebos and a serene memory garden. The residents enjoy living in the 2 historic mansions; imagine living in a mansion with the old time charm including high ceilings, old woodwork, winding stairway and stainglass windows. In addition to the 2 historic mansions, there are the brand new additions of our current parlour, dining area and activities room, plus 28 suites in our Hart House. The suites are set up with a bedroom, living room and bathroom. All of the rooms at Lockport Presbyterian Home are private rooms of varying sizes. Our staff focuses on our residents and provides tender loving care. The facility provides support services that stabilize residents that were living alone in their own homes. Each resident gets regular balanced meals, opportunities to socialize at meals and activities throughtout the day, can be assisted with medications, and ends up walking more than they ever did in their own home. Combine this with someone always being available if assistance is needed or an emergency occurs, the resident quickly relaxes and feels at home. The resident has worked hard all of their life and now can do the things they want, not what they felt they had to do (ie. laundry, housekeeping, cooking, etc.) Although there is not a nurse present within the facility at all times, the facility has a Resident Care Coordinator and a Nursing Supervisor that cover about 80 hours per week focusing on the resident's health status.
