I have been living at The Hearth for two years now. I have had nothing but a positive experience. I am very lucky to be part of such a great program. The Chef always comes out during meals and listens to your thoughts and concerns. The biggest thing that I enjoy the most is that the staff listen and pay attention to what you have to say.

My sister has recently joined The Hearth on James family. After visiting other Assisted Living Housing in the Syracuse area, I give the facility, staff, location, food and experience a "5 star" rating. Alescia Porceng, Director of Community Relations, guided our family through the process and paperwork during a stressful time. Sue Armstrong, Nurse Manager, is well experienced with a nurturing attitude towards tenants...we love Nurse Sue.

It's very interesting when you transition from owning a house and the maintenance thereof, having nutritious meals and snacks provided daily, onsite physical therapy/occupational therapy, medical management, weekly housekeeping, transportation, daily activities and social programs...your life is very simple. This means, individuals can focus on themselves, their health and truly the things that make them happy in life. The heart warming staff and residents always greet our family as we arrive or in the hallways.

Anyone driving into the parking lot of The Hearth on James will "feel" the happiness around as it is such a beautiful facility. My sister is thriving in her new environment making new friends and looking healthier than I have ever seen her. Thank you!

Seniors in Syracuse, NY, will find The Hearth on James to be just the right fit for their needs. Assisted living offers help on an as-needed basis, with the goal of providing the support that helps seniors stay as self-reliant as possible. There are many reasons for living in an assisted living community. Research suggests that seniors who live near their peers and have a variety of social activities feel a greater sense of well-being. Assisted living provides senior-friendly housing and a caring staff. Other services you'll find include around-the-clock supervision and security, access to professional nurses, emergency call systems, help with daily living, and nutritious meals prepared by chefs. These communities typically provide linen service, housekeeping, transportation, and a calendar of social events. For seniors who can care for themselves but who want to enjoy a low-maintenance life independent living is the ideal choice. Tailored for both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as retirement villages, 55+ communities, and senior apartments. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with a variety of community amenities, services, and programs tailored just for seniors. You’ll enjoy your own space, so you can bring your favorite belongings, such as furniture and personal items. With independent living, residents won't have to worry about maintenance, mowing, or other chores associated with home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. You’ll find many social programs and community amenities, such as gardening, bridge, bingo, fitness programs, book clubs, and planned outings. Memory care offers the highest level of support, consistent memory enrichment programs, and increased security for your loved one. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a staff that is trained in memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private studio homes with twenty-four-hour supervision. Three nutritious meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment bring intellectual stimulation. Communities typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to access. Other important services include behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming. Make a home at The Hearth on James, where you'll experience a comfortable new beginning. There are assisted living, independent living and memory care services available at this location.
