Our mom was at Seneca Health Care Center for a little over 28 months and we visited everyday with few exceptions. We are very pleased with the way mom was treated and the care she received. Seneca became our home and the staff and residents became our family.
I suppose if we looked hard enough, as with any family, we could always find fault somewhere with something or someone. But, over all, we knew that mom was getting excellent care and she was safe and loved.
We looked into several options before we decided on Seneca Health Care. Perhaps what stood out the most for us was the family atmosphere. We were always welcomed regardless of the time of day. Just walk in at anytime and you'll see the number of families visiting. Every professional with whom we consulted fully supported from their own experience our choice to have mom live at Seneca.
To be clear, Seneca is not home, but when it comes to having a loved one cared for it is definitely the next best thing. Recently mom passed away. The ENTIRE staff was incredibly supportive during this very difficult journey. We will always be grateful to our Seneca Health Care family for being there for us when we needed them.
I guess you're reading this wondering if we would recommend Seneca Health Care to others. ABSOLUTELY!

I would like to let people know that my family has dealt with this nursing home. My mother was there for about 3 years, before she passed away suddenly. Many, many items were "stolen" from my mom over those 3 years. I realize that some of that could be accounted for by patients with alzheimers, etc. But many other things cannot. When she passed, we asked for her headbands. Now, headbands aren't a huge deal, I realize. But a worker...(because it was behind the nurses desk) took my mom's headbands that were given to her by her doctor. They were so special to her. There were many instances of money being taken from her as well. I realize no matter where you go, there will always be thieves, but at a nursing home, with so many sick and mentally disabled patients, well, it's just a rotten shame. Many other items came up missing when we brought her things home as well, and at this point we have given up hope of ever getting them.
