These reviews from 2012 are outdated. I think the 5/24/12 review is the company. Building renovations stopped in 2013 and have not been finished. Motivated by health department and safety issues only! Several state investigations of abuse and neglect in the last two months. Several CNA's in locked dementia unit are very rude and abusive (David W.) High turnover of staff and management team in past year. Nursing staff is almost all temporary staffing agency as no one will stay with the company directly for very long. From what staff have said, five or six activity directors in past 3 years and currently all positions are open and have been for a while. Residents are bored and declining. Dining services are contracted out and that also is short staffed and full of errors. Maintenance requests are rarely addressed and maintenance director has a terrible attitude about simple tasks or adjustments that would make patients more comfortable in their last days. Building needs new management and state should investigate the administrator. Leaving my loved one here was the worst decision I could make! Such a decline in overall well being.

I recently Visisted this Facility and contrary to the posts seen here, found it to be well staffed. The medical personell were all very attententive to their residents. The residents that I had an opportunity to speak with were happy, healthy and well cared for. The building is an older building but appears to be taken care of. While there I did notice that several rooms are being refurbished. What I saw were rooms that felt a lot more like a home enviorment and less like a hospital setting. I had the opportunity to speak with the Administrator of the building, a very outgoing woman who did not seem put out at all by my questions and seemed to be very forthcoming about the problems of the past and the actions that have been taken to correct those problems. This included removing staff that looked at working there as just a job and replacing them with people who care about the residents and go the extra mile to make sure they are healthy and well cared for.

What is senior living? Both words in this phrase are essential, but the key is “Living!” Simply put, senior living is for those age 55 and older who still want to get everything they can out of life—with excellent value, excellent care, and excellent times. It means an engaged, satisfied lifestyle based upon your wants and needs. For some it means independent living, a way to live as usual but without the hassles of home ownership or maintenance. For others it means assisted living, a type of retirement community that still emphasizes your freedom and independence, but always with a ready, friendly staff to assist as needed. For those requiring more intensive help with physical needs or with Alzheimer’s or dementia, senior living means nursing care and memory care. Senior living offers comprehensive continuing care, where retirees can “age in place,” moving from one form of care to another as needed. Finally, senior living also means in-home care, where trained staff help retirees in their current home.
