05/24/2012 An Interested Visitor Writes: I recently Visisted this Facility and contrary to the posts seen here, found it to be well staffed. The medical personell were all very attententive to their residents. The residents that I had an opportunity to speak with were happy, healthy and well cared for. The building is an older building but appears to be taken care of. While there I did notice that several rooms are being refurbished. What I saw were rooms that felt a lot more like a home enviorment and less like a hospital setting. I had the opportunity to speak with the Administrator of the building, a very outgoing woman who did not seem put out at all by my questions and seemed to be very forthcoming about the problems of the past and the actions that have been taken to correct those problems. This included removing staff that looked at working there as just a job and replacing them with people who care about the residents and go the extra mile to make sure they are healthy and well cared for.

Response: I am sure the administrator was eager to blame any deficiencies on past management and staff. However, things were actually well run until recent management changes were instituted. Nurse to patient staffing is about half of what it used to be. Many long term staff have left, not just because they saw working there as 'just a job', but because they were disgusted by the drop in the quality of care, pay decreases, working with no supplies, and being told that paperwork is more important than patient care. At this point, the facility will hire anybody that comes through the door; most of the nurses are now new hires and brand new nurses with no experience. As a result, both staff and patient morale is in the dumps.

Response: The DON Amber Clark is a sorry excuse for a nurse and leader. She fires staff over the phone and makes her own rules. She intimidates the staff and treats them like children.CNA are allowed to give insulin shots and draw blood. They are not allowed by law to do that!! The paperwork is falsified and meds are not given to some patients because nurses are not allowed to work long enough to finish.LPNs have to do theyre own treatments plus give out meds. This facility needs a new Director and definitely a new DON.....Needs to be investigated by state or DSS...............IM A CURRENT EMPLOYEE AT THIS FACILITY AND IM ASHAMED TO TELL ANYONE I WORK HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

03/23/2012 An Current/Past Employee Writes: Recent management changes have led to an appalling decrease in the quality of care. Long time employees (nurses and CNA's) have either been fired or have quit in disgust. Staffing levels are dangerously low putting the residents at risk. Staff have been told that paperwork takes priority over patient care. The only plus is that the few remaining core staffers are dedicated.

01/12/2012 An Current/Past Employee Writes: Poor staffing morale. Poor management/leadership. Drastically understaffed at times.

Response: In what capacity are you related to this facility and on what specifically do you base your opinion?
