Physical Therapy staff is top notch. The gym is nice and Mom is getting the best PT care she could hope for.
The food is good and the room is OK. She has a beautiful view of the garden area.
The nursing staff leaves something to be desired. I can't say that ALL of them are bad but we have had a few that should not be in the nursing business if they can not handle a person with a colostomy. I have to go over and cut her wafers, which I don't mind, BUT they should have trained ostomy people on staff. One male nurse was so nasty to my Mother that he made her cry and then talked about her out in the hall to the other staff, where she could hear him. VERY UNprofessional. She also has had to call ME to call the front desk to get a nurse down there to assist her. Again, not what I was hoping for in a facility. Overall I would give them an average rating and suggest that they get some ostomy trained people on staff .

My 87 year old mother had a hip replaced and we came here. I've read the other reviews here and am surprised to see many negative ones. We had a great experience. New rehab gym is top notch and therapists really got Mom back on her feet again. Nursing staff was very attentive and kind overall. One or two in the evenings that could use some more training. Mom (surprsingly!) loved the food. No odors in the halls, thankfully. Mom said it was a bit noisy some nights, but she's a light sleeper. Would definitely recommend.

The Nursing Home did not contact me as an immediate family member (caregiver and legal guardian) when my cousin was sent to the hospital and in intensive care! No one will comment or apologize. His clothes were left dirty in his room for over a week after we asked two times to have them cleaned. No one seems to be in charge of this facility.

I am very upset about the treatment my mother received at Sardis. I could not recommend this facility. There was an attitude of indifference and a total lack of caring and respect for her as an elderly patient. I am sorry that she was ever there.

11/11/2011  -  An OurParents User Writes:

Care is very basic. No showers were provided for my mom unless I gave them myself. Nurses congregate in the halls chatting. All patients are put in diapers regardless of ability to use restroom.

Horrible place - the staff does not care or even respond to the patient. Rehab is a joke. The rehab director is not qualified and is not willing to listen to patients or Family.
