After 8 months in the Brian Center my father passed away in November. While there were some aides who were very kind to him, there were others that were not, and they were very short-staffed. They often let him sit for long periods of time in dirty depends. They set him in the hallway because he was a fall risk and wouldn't cover him or put pants on him. My mother had to pay $8000 per month because they sold their house right before he went in so he wasn't covered by Medicaid. Now, they owe my mother over $3000 and keep telling her she owes something for this or that and she has to pay before they will give her the refund. They have a charge for 'wheelchair training' that they can't explain, but expect her to pay. He couldn't even sit in a wheelchair, the only chair he was ever in was the one in the room which they would roll into the hall. Mom is still taking care of my disabled sister and in February my nephew, her grandson, went into the hospital for a brain tumor biopsy which bled into his brain causing a stroke. He is still in the hospital, and so she is dealing with all of this on top of the baloney the Brian Center is giving her. She is 85 and I get so angry at these people. I went with her while I was in NC and tried to get something that made sense from the financial administrator, but she just kept saying she wasn't there in November and so has no idea why this is taking so long. If you find yourself at the point where you have to put a loved one in a home, do everything you can to keep them out of here.

I think it's horrible that this nursing home singled out a service dog and forbid an employee to bring a service dog to work. This employee served in Iraq. It's pathetic when the men and women who put their lives on the line for our coutry are targeted at home by the very people they protected. I'm absolutely disgusted. I will never use this business or any of it's affiliates.
