Do NOT use this facility. They are inadequate in every possible way. The CNA's are sweet, but things don't get done in a timely fashion. It's filthy..the curtains in my Mom's first of 4 different rooms had a half inch of dust all over it, the floor was always dirty with food and urine in her room from her roomie who had beginning stages of altzheimers (they don't separate them from the other residents) There are no phones in their rooms.Management is terrible. Physical therapists there are nice, & the nurse named Amy is the only thing that keeps that place going. She is wonderful. They're extremely understaffed. Some of the nurses are lazy and take hours to get them their meds in the morning. I took my Mother out for an MRI at noon & she had yet to have her morning meds, and had been given nothing for pain since the night before.
My Mother came out much worse than she went in. When she went to Carolina Rehab, she was mobile on a walker with wheels, she now has a broken back and they have kicked her out for not being able to do enough physical therapy for insurance to pay. She could stay awaiting appeal, but it would be a 15k deposit to pay out of pocket. (yes, 15 thousand dollars) They kicked her out after a MRI at the hospital and expected me to take her home.. to a 3 story house with 20 brick stairs to get in.. with a broken back. They couldn't find transport, and actually don't offer it. They offered to set her up with home health (which she, nor I can afford) I then had to pack my things, and my son's things.. and her things.. and move in her house until we can figure something out. Because my Mother has Blue Cross Blue Medicare ppo, noone wants to help us. She has too many assets for any assistance, although she is broke and retired. The cna and nursing staff really try, but poor management, limited resources, and understaffing make it really hard for them to give any kind of quality care.
