My mother was at Bayview and passed away at the facility; a very few of the CNAs were very helpful; the "therapist", Kelly, needs to remember she is not a doctor; my mother suffered a stroke and was paralyzed on the left side; the hospital was able to get her to eat but with thickeners; once moved to the nursing home, Kelly assessed her and advised she could not eat or drink; after a few days, she did feed her but when leaving on a weekend she gave orders she could not eat; how do you feed a lady for a week and then let her "starve" on the weekend; also, the lady who admits the patients at that time, January, was very pleasant in the beginning; as time went on, she became less and less accessible; the straw that broke the camel's back was when she moved my mother without advising the family; my mother, although unable to speak at that time seemed to be upset; I never knew for sure because she was so sick at the time that she passed away a few days later; keep in mind my mother was paralyzed on her left side; on one occasion, I came into my mother's room to find her on her back with her head to the left side, spittoon under her chin and head lowered with no one in the room; she could not move her left side so I know something had to force her head to the left; I can only hope she was not hurt; she could have choked to death; I would never have another family member at that facility

My mother had a miserable stay there following a hip break. I believe the mishandling of her led to a second hip break and their poor nursing skills led to her infected sores. Less than polite to her, and staff NEVER available.... The patients in the hall could tell you where the staff was located. All of the above, my sister and I personally witnessed and we discussed at length our cincerns with the director, to no avail.
During her second stay in the hospital we moved her to Two Rivers Trent. They were wonderful to her. The only positive at Bayview was the excellent therapy through Carolna Therapy.

Response: I would agree if "Kelly" is not included in this

Very frustrating trying to get issues addressed. No call lights, I am told "they are working on this" My relative has been there 8 weeks, and still no call lights to summon help, not even in the bathroom!!! Old fashioned crank beds!!! Residents need help tp change position of bed, cause they can't do it themselves!!! Very understaffed!!! Sometimes we never even see the CNA that is assigned to my relative!!
I DO HAVE TO SAY, THOUGH, i HAVE NEVER SEEN A CLEANER NURSING HOME!!
They have put all their money and staff in the REHAB section and he rest of the building is outdated!!!

Response: Trust me.... The staff isn't in the rehab section!!
