Response: Please be advised before you send a loved one to Hillcrest. My Mother and her were both neglected and abused. With my Mother. ... She was diabetic, vegetarian and needed insulin and a renal diet. The nurses on staff, dietician and kitchen had no clue! She arrived with her chart history? Her sugar was not checked on a regular basis, her input and output was not being monitored, she was not being transferred out of bed or being turned in bed as protocol dictates. On her third day they dropped her during transfer which my father witnessed. While trying to get her off the floor they ran over her foot with a wheelchair and pulled her hair when in a hoyer lift. My Mother had an appointment with her regular Doctor and Hillcrest had promised van delivery of my Mother with fily to follow. They placed Mom in a wheelchair at 11 am for a 3 o'clock appt. The driver didn't show up on time I inquired. She had been forgotten. An exasperated driver finally showed up to transport my Mom. When she arrived at her appointment she was immediately sent to the ER. She passed away 3 days later. I will admit that my Mom was very sick but Hillcrest had NO clue how to take care of a patient in a dignified or caring manner.
My Mom happened to be placed in a room with a woman there for rehab as well. Thank The Lord they had each other! My Mom witnessed abuse on her roommate. The CNA refused to clean and change after she urinated. She layed in her soiled linens until morning Those two women lay in the bed neglected and frightened. Her roommate is pursing legal action as is our family. Oh sure the place looks beautiful but the care is below substandard. I am a Licenced Nurse in the State of North Carolina and formerly in the State of New York and have never witnessed such neglectful care and lack of empathy in care until they were called to task!

This is a CRITICAL message to anyone contemplating placing a person into Hillcrest. The owner, Peggy Harris witholds information, documents, and rewords conversations in order to "bait-and-switch" what is offered, from what is actually delivered. We are currently starting a legal complaint against the facility and will request that the facility licenses be revoked. Look elsewhere. We cannot urge you enough to not consider Hillcrest.
