This facility is one of the worst I've ever seen. I've been there before to visit a friend of mine who worked there. People are treated like dogs that work there. The residents aren't treated much better. I saw residents who would ask to go to the bathroom and staff would tell them they could wait and then never go back. Management staff - well I've seen them yell at people for not answering lights and my friend has fussed over and over about hearing about the same old song and dance about the lights, but yet I've seen them walk by the lights themselves. Or answer the lights instead of helping them go all over looking for someone just to get a glass of water. How considerate is that of one's feelings? Rude! Practice what you preach. Too much work is put on people and it's blamed on the medicare cuts and the government. Our geriatric population is what gives you a job. They are people too. You are in their home. Not the other way around. Be proud of what you do. I would not recommend this facility to anybody. I would never allow my family to send any family member to this facility. Clothes are constantly lost. There are never enough linens for people to wash or have for their beds. Housekeeping is never kept up. Maintenance needs to have a crash course in American works. Gerry rigging doesn't always do the trick. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

I am a nurse at Bath Manor. I've only been employed there since the beginning of Jan (2011) but so far I truly can not say enough about this facility. I have worked in other long term care facilities as well as clinical hours and I have never come across such a clean,by the book facility as Bath Manor. The staff is so caring and compassionate towards the residents...from housekeeping to laundry, nurses etc. I have witnessed first hand residents coming in that were in a very critical health state and have been rehabilitated to full health and sent home. Sadly there are residents who are long term and this will be their home until they pass. These residents also are taken care of and treated excellent. The staff doctors are very accessible, handle new situations quickly and thoroughly and are very devoted to their patients.
While this facility may not have the most modern or high tech equipment available...they make up for it in their performance and ability to care for their residents.
A long term care facility always has the reputation of not being as clean as hospitals and let's be honest..most people think nursing homes smell awful! When I went into Bath Manor for my initial interview my very first thought was "wow it smells amazing in here!" And now even after working there for over a month, I'm still shocked at how clean this facility smells. No, they don't use some special spray or mask the smell. The reason in my opinion it does not smell like a lot of other facilities is simply no other reason then the resident care. No resident is sitting around for hours wet or dirty. There are no beds saturated with urine or otherwise. The laundry department keeps up on the laundry so no dirty linens are sitting around. Even during the night the nursing staff does 2 hour rounds on all in continent residents to promote good skin care. Call lights are answered promptly, meds delivered on time, issues addressed promptly and personally I think the most impressive yet is how caring the staff is.
Yes, I am employed at Bath,I'm not getting any kind of bribery to write this review (ha ha) I just know how hard it is to find long term placement for a loved one and long term care facilities don't always have the best reputations. I not only would happy to have one of my own family members be a resident there but I am proud to say I work at such a GREAT facility!!!

Response: Obviously you must've been paid to make such a bogus comment about this facility. It does smell. People do sit for hours. They do lie in urine and feces. The nursing assistants, particularly on second shift do not pay attention to residents. Food is not passed in a timely fashion and the food is cold by the time it is received. Medications are not passed on time. It's virtually impossible to pass them in the time frame allowable by state. And on the rehab unit they are passed at least 2-3 hours before they are due at bedtime just so the nurse can sit with her feet propped behind the desk and delegate while on the cell phone to the director of nursing pointing out all the "bad" things that the other nurses are doing but fails to mention that she can't even read a doctor's order correctly or even write clearly for that matter. The director of nursing covers for people all the time. She will shoot people down and degrade them in a heartbeat bringing them to tears in front of family members to make it look like they are wrong when indeed it was definitely a problem from the facility and her fault. Residents break bones from staff and it's covered up. If I were that family member I would sue the facility and own it!!! What's good for the goose is not good for the gander in this facility. It's all in who you know. My friend was fired for an error another nurse made by writing wrong and they think it's a big laugh- after the director of nursing swore she would have her license taken away. My friend is living on welfare! She eats from food pantries and has the church pay her bills!!! And you are proud to work in that facility???? If I were you I would think long and hard and watch my back. No one is safe there. Have you never heard the story about how the director of nursing got her job? She killed the one before her. She made threats on her life and the next thing you knew she was dead......BEWARE!!!!!
