If you want your loved one to be ignored, unbathed, poorly fed, then this is the place for you. Under educated or overworked staff abound. My parent shared a room with another patient who was very ill and coughing almost constantly. A nursing assistant tried to force the other patients dentures into my parent's mouth despite a family member attempting to stop her. The bathroom in my parent's room was filthy: a discarded, used, fecally soiled vinyl glove was left on the vanity. My parent was fed meals in bed when he/she was supposed to be there for rehab. The meals were awful; appeared to be boxed or canned food and it was always served cold. These are just a few examples of what this facility is like. If you have a choice, pick a different place.

As an outside Caregiver, I have the opportunity to explore and observe many different nursing homes and retirement communities based on my clients needs. Recently, I took care of an elder patient who was left in the care of the Aurora Manor staff. During my first hours visiting at Aurora Manor I was disgusted! Due to the HIPPA law I am unable to describe exactly what I discovered. However, the building itself was dirty, there was trash all over my clients floor & inside his/her bed. The room reeked like urine as well as my client. The nursing staff was an absolute joke & denied assistance when paged! The overall appearance of the building itself may seem appealing but, like most nursing homes, my client showed evidence of harmful neglect. After questioning my client, he/she clearly stated that the Aurora Manor staff does not feed them on a daily basis or respond to pages and is often left completely ignored. The only good thing about Aurora Manor was the security.
