Harbor Care is absolutely terrible. They operate with only one shift per person, and the staff only includes health aides. The owners, Leslie and Scott have no medical background and they have no actual nurses on staff. They are not even licensed by the Ohio Department of Health. They are licensed by Ohio drug and mental health services. Which means they are not responsible for providing their residents the same sort of care as any other assisted living facilities. In short, this place should not be considered by anyone who cares about their family member. Just a tip, when you are looking for a assisted living facility, make sure it is licensed to have 16-20 residents and has a LPn on staff. Also, make sure they are licensed by the Ohio Department of Health and no one else. Otherwise, they are not accountable for anything. This facility runs by its own set of rules when it comes to drug administration, record keeping and staffing. All of which are a display of such incompetence and a lack of organization , that I thought I would never encounter in my lifetime. This is a very dangerous place for any elderly person . Don't think that other places with better staffing and care are more costly. My experience is most places will work with you on cost, so look around!!! My experience with this place has caused me nothing but grief, guilt and regret. You have been warned, STAY AWAY!!!

Owners have NO education in health care. Money venture for them ONLY! Only 1 Staff member has ever worked in the health care feild. The food ALL comes from a box OR FREEZER. HIGH SODIUM, HIGH FAT diet. Only home cooked meals are on major holidays or when local churches donate left over food from events. Heating and cooling system is horrible. You will need to put plastic on your loved ones windows in the winter. In the summer it is so hot you can't breath. Plumbing is bad and leaks through the floors. Activites are far and few between and VERY lame. MAKE SURE YOU GET A GOOD LAWYER if you want the money owed to you or your loved one when they die or leave the facility. Staff is CONSTANTLY changeing with the exception of 2 members. Owner is RARELY there and is hard to get a hold of. Some residents and day care members have escaped and were returned by good folks in the community. Medications are given at un-even times. Third shift workers sleep on the job. Diaper changes are often not done durning the night and left for 1st shift. Tension between staff members. If you have no other choices...Take your loved one here but..You should look into a better place where the staff is trained and the owners care about more than just money. MAKE SURE YOU GET A SIGNED CONTRACT NOTERIZED WITH WITNESSE'S BEFORE YOU commit to sending you loved one here. DO NOT take Leslie and Scott's word...It is NO GOOD. I could go on and on about the things my Mother and I went through with this place but..I think you get the hint. BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!

This place is a real joke! nobody that works there has experience in the health care field! they dont even have a nurse for med pass or anything...often they dont give or forget to give breathing treatments and meds! staff is very loud and rough with clients esp. on third shift! the food they serve is all frozen processed food not fit for even a dog! the clients never go on outings and there are no activities in the building ever. sadly all the owners are after is money and will lie to get what they want! third shift sleeps at night and leaves clients un attended!there have been cases where clients have fell while staff was sleeping! most of the staff members are lazy and will not change diapers thew will leave them in their messy diapers without changing them intill they feel like it or if family members are due for a visit ...they often let clients sleep all day and miss meals! staff also brings their children to work and lets them cry and fun around all night! who knows what the staff does there just the thought of it turns my stomach! there is also only one person on a shift to take care of 13 plus clients! how sad is that! this place needs shut down and trust me i am doing everything in my power to do so! i have contacted state and a personal attorney! so anyone in their right mind would not send their loved one here and if they do they need serious help!! so when it comes down to it please STAY AWAY from harbor care at all costs!
