The owner is a MONEY HUNGRY ocd freak who cares more about a smudge on glass than a dirty diaper. They allowed a Meth user to hand out pills to our loved ones. Dont drug test like they should half of the staff would be fired for sure. Allowed my mother to leave the unit to be found at speedway, what a shame, GET A BETTER STAFF. Hope this place gets sold and made into apartments... You even allowed your own brother and mother to suffer in this miserable place. WHAT A SHAME.

I am a current employee at Anna's and as for the May 18th comment, I worked at Anna's at the time of these supposed incidents and I can assure any potential residents or family members that the statements could not be further from the truth. Our staff is trained and always learning more. Medication is given safely to all residents. Yes some of our residents complain about the food, but in life you can't always make everyone happy all of the time. And if our residents don't like what we are serving they are always offered another option. Our staff tries very hard to cook excellent meals, we are always finding new recipes and desserts to make for our residents. It is a small facility and all my fellow employees go above and beyond the call of duty for our residents. We are a family and we always try to make all of our residents feel special. I was first employed in 2012 until 2013, and came back in June of 2014. I love my job and the owners are fantastic. They care about their employees more than any other place I have worked. Gene and Patti are very involved in the daily happenings and would never allow a resident to be mistreated or neglected. Anna's is a great place to work and live. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone considering moving to a nursing home. We try our best to make Anna's a friendly, clean and enjoyable place to be. Our residents hardly ever complain, they all love the staff like family. I feel that the May 18th, 2013 commenter was trying to point out any flaw or issue they possibly could. We do care about our facility being clean but never over the care of a resident. They are our #1 priority And the owners have worked very hard to ensure there is a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Regarding the May 18, 2013 comment concerning Anna's Retirement. This is from a former employee that was replaced. She had tried to take charge & control of the company by making business decisions she was not capable of or authorized to do. It became obvious very quickly that this was not going to work for Anna's. After she was replaced, she informed us she would do whatever it would take to ruin this business. She also tried to encourage some of the residents as well as staff to follow her. None did.

    1. Concerning the money accusations. She brought residents in for less than it costs to feed, provide around the clock help, and transportation to medical appointments. We felt this to be binding and have honored the contracts at a loss.

    2. Meals: Hot dogs and bologna. Yes they do get those for dinner occasionally because they like them. Our biggest meal is served at lunch with dinner usually being a sandwich & soup so they sleep better from a light meal. Our meals are nutritionally balanced.

    3. With our license, we are not required to have a nurse. What we do have are CNA's and very caring employees.

    4. Medications are prepacked by the pharmacy with the residents name on each packet. They are handed to the resident at the proper time to self administer.

    5. All of our residents are ambulatory. Most residents take their showers in their own rooms. Those who need assistance, are helped in the walk in shower by a staff member.

    6. Our residents are all able to get up and go to the bathroom. Anybody needing assistance in the night has a call button beside their bed. None of our patients require turning in the night.

    7. All State of Ohio rules are adhered to, along with monthly staff meetings updating & refreshing any point necessary.

    8. A residents family brought in clothing that had bed bugs in them. At that time, we immediately got professional help and treated the problem. In 38 years, that was a first time occurrence. We now treat monthly for this as a precaution. We also live on the premises and will not tolerate this.

    9. Gene Saunders has been the administrator here for 38 years and has kept up with all the states rules, regulations, and classed every year.
This former employee has been under the care of a psychiatrist and we hope she continues to get the help she needs.

We welcome anyone who is in question of our services to come in unannounced and speak to any staff members or resident.

    Gene Saunders

The companies owners care more about how much money is going into their pockets rather then activities and things the resident might need. Patients are all private pay and yet they eat bologna and hotdogs for dinner almost every night. Staff is under qualified. A medical assistant whom never completed schooling poses as the house nurse. All employees have access to narcotics and all medications. And administer without proper training or lisencing. Staff shows favoritism towards certain residents and bad mouth the "needy" ones behind their back. Residents are lucky to get a shower twice a week only I one of the aides is keeping a schedule. Extreme unprofessionalism and training. They care more about if the under neath of a table is wiped off vs. a patient who was been left unchanged or turned all night. You may ask how I know this? I worked there for a long time until I could no longer put up with the way things were being done. I would not recommend putting your mother or father in there unless you want to deal with extremely fake people who change their ways as soon as you walk out the door. They recently had a spat of bed bugs and were letting the problem go after it had been reported that one o the residents had continued to be bitten. They finally addressed the problem after one of the employees were able to catch one of the bugs and prove what she had been saying for months.
