horribly understaffed, not enough nurses, pitiful stna staffing. i'm grateful my elderly family members will have care at home. good luck with the food, snacks etc. The wonderful Haven of Hope offers much better!

When i arrived there were some of the best nurses i ever had....an some of the worst. When i left there were few of the good ones left. There are very few good aids. The good ones do there best but can only do so much. It was nothing to have to wait an hour for the call light to be answered. Someone could be gone by then. Because its30 patients to 1 nurse and 1 aid. If there are call offs it can be 60 to 1.as for the bad nurses when i saw one of them on duty i was literally scared because i knew i wouldnt be getting my meds on time or any other care if needed.i feel its very unsafe there.

Horrible place it should be closed!!!!!!!! I watched the best nurses treated poorly and eventually quit which was a warning sign to get my aunt out of there extremely understaffed not sure exactly what the administrative staff does there because all I ever saw was them being rude to the staff her were already worked to death. Awful place don't put your family there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There has been numerous recent changes in this facility. I had my grandparent transferred from another nursing due to lack of care. It was a facility that was suppose to be rated one of the best. I did not see that. At Hanover the staff is friendly, willing to do what it takes to make your family feel welcome.

I was investigating Hanover to possibly place a family member for therapy. Although the nurses were very nice I found out they have a lot of criminals there as residents ie a convicted child rapist who walks around freely. A lot of felons and drug addicts. The staff seemed very stressed out and not enough of them. I actually felt like iI wanted to help them. The facility was clean but there were several young residents smoking at the entrance. I quickly decided this was not the place for my mom

I am a former employee. I stayed there as long as possible but felt my license was in jeopardy and had to resign. The staff at Hanover house are some of the best I have worked with however.....we were unable to provide appropriate care or do thorough assessments because the staffing. There motto is as long as we have enough staff in the building to not get a citation from the state then we are good. The staff begged for more help however there are more nurses etc sitting in offices than actually taking care of patients. no raises in 7 A stna frequently would have 20 plus residents. Several staff members a day are in tears because they can't give proper care.

Poorly staffed for nurses and nurse aides. You are LUCKY if you have 1 per hall.
Food is average at best, the same old snacks day after day, which is good if you like pudding, applesauce and stale graham or saltine crackers.
Staff was helpfull when they had the time- They were always nice. As a health care provider, I can see when there is more help needed

Great administrator! A lot of changes have been made and you can tell that the focus of the staff is truly all about the quality of care and the comfort of residents. Couldn't ask for a more pleasant place to be on a daily basis.

noticed that they do not have enough staff to accomodate the needs of the pt. My mom was a pt. there and I strongly recommend you look elswwhere. They will tell you lies to get you in the door and then you will see for yourself.

Wow! Can you spell Horrible! My dads cell phone got stolen by his roomate who may I add had some very questionable "friends" that were also patients. TThe staff was very helpfull in recovering it I may add. Very rude patients, made me scared, looked more like a halfway house if you can get past the clouds of smoke to get in the place. The poor staff! The snacks that are provided are the same day after day. Cookies and sugar water or yummy applesauce. Therapy dept. was good. Nurses were good also. Most of the direct care staff did a good job for how little of them that there was. Seemed like when you need something they are always "on there other hall." If you want QT you will not get it here. Too overworked for that. Some of the aides need better training on how to deal with people. Overall the staff was very helpfull. The rooms are small and in need of updates. Bed was old and the mattress smelled of urine on day 1. Laundry never smelled fresh or looked very clean. Food OK. Leaves a lot to be desired.

Response: Not kept clean Staff not profeesinal and family are not treated as they should be

The staff was always very helpfull. As a daily visiter and very involved in the care of mother I noticed that There are only usually 1 aide a hall plus another to go beetween 2. There ia 2 a hall on a good day. Having such a large facility should warrent more aides and nurses.Having a high nurse/pt. ratio with the kind of acuity I have observed is unnerving. Meals average at best. Housekeeping needs a kick in the rear.

We visited Grandma several times and observed staff running around like chickens with theie heads cut off.Staffing is obviously an issue. A lot of loud disruptive patients. Nurses and assistants were always nice but always seemed rushed. The nurses have 2 halls of patients so time is limited, thank goodness Grandma was not totally helpless.

11/02/2011  -  An OurParents User Writes:

This nursing home leaves a lot to be desired. Not staffed well at all. Residents have to way hours to be taken to the bathroom or put to bed. The cleaning crew - what joke! there is filth everywhere. These poor patients have to put up with a poor excuse of staff that really doesn't care about them and they are made to feel as though they are a bother.
